Not much I can say about your luck Feck. As you told be previosly it can become a vicious circle at times. Mind you, I pity the layers when the tide turns...

A run of this nature is normal for me stewarty but it seems to have come early this season. I blame that spell of good weather in April. Jockey error has been particularly unkind to me the last few days. Tanned Ahern on Dever Dream on Friday as well.

Horse racing.
Is that the "sport" where thoroughbreds run round in circles carrying multicolured leprechauns ? |
By:
No it's the sport where people rely on animals to win them money, and them poor horses too, being whipped the whole way round - vile 'sport'
By:
I thought the whips were for the owners/trainers to use on the losing leprechauns.

where are some of the regulars?

Mate I'd love to come to Windsor on 18th July or 1 August.
I'm pretty definitely going to come to one or the other. Presumably you realise that whilst it's a lovely setting the course at Windsor is the worst in the country for actually watching any racing. Anyway that won't stop us having a good time. |

Can I ask a Question
Can I park my Aston Martin safely ? Has there been any notorious car crime on such days at Windsor? Haven't been to the races in years. Let me know please |

Cramped, I will leave my Aston at the hotel. It might be worth you staying the night. How I'm going to keep myself in Astons after the premium charge god only knows. I might end up having to drive a porsche or something. Betfair just don't think about the consequences of their actions and the damage it does to peoples lives.
By:
Thanks Pumkins, it's true, Betfair have not thought about how much liquidity the big boys put into there markets, 60% is too much, although the Aston Martin needs updating, I'll take it anyway, and stay the night, if it gets nicked, it's no problem, it has a tracker device anyway.

Can't make the Hamilton meeting unfortuantely, but the others are good.

I'll be wearing a red carnation.
Can anyone recommend a decent hotel nearby? |
By:
How about I'm a winner tattooed on your forehead ?
By:
God that sounds snide and petty.
Wasn't meant to be at all. Just a sorry attempt at humour. Have fun everybody on your day at the races.. One fine day I must try to schedule a visit to old blighty. Been a long time between visits. |
By:
Any chance of some Betfair staff/representatives turning up?
By:
In Kevlar vests ?
By:
Mr Magoo
none are scheduled or confirmed yet, but they are always welcome. I think there has always been at least one at GB past christmass gatherings - so Perhaps one or two will show up. |

I would love to come, but it depends if my back is better. It appears I am getting old.

Just confirming this event in 100% on.
I will be there about 1 hour before the first.... still need a central meeting point? any suggestions by those that know Windsor. |
By:
Meet opp Browns and go in on the boat.....................
By:
Im up for that....
do I asusme you mean Browns in Windsor - or can you take a baot all the way from central London? |
By:
Yeah Browns is dead opp the Thames in central Windsor (French Brothers Windsor Promenade)
probably can get a boat from Central London ? Boats departing for Windsor Racecourse start running 2 hours before the first race up until the beginning of the second race. The return trips to Windsor Promenade start at the beginning of the penultimate race and finish approximately 40 mins after the last race.(French Brothers) |
By:
OK
I will be at the location 1.5 hours before the first, with idea to catch the boat across with 45min before the first EVERYONE still coming... |
By:
My status has changed from provisional to definite.
See you there Magician. |
By:
I'll be there. Haven't booked my hotel yet but will try to make it to Browns too.
By:
I'll be there. First race 18:10, so 16:30'ish at Browns.

Remember lads, talking about the PC is verbotim.
Anybody not toeing the line on this, gets thrown overboard toute de suite. |
By:
I think I might have meant verboten.
And to think that my wife is German. How funny is that. |

By:
I'm definitely going now and personally would prefer to meet at the racecourse as it will give me an extra hour. Will be driving and booking into a local hotel. The prospect of a nights peace from the mrs and 4 kids is too good to turn down
