I'm interested in keeping an eye. Good luck to you.
Always interesting to see what works/doesn't work for people. |
By:
Goodluck, it can be done but if you lose your discipline just slightly and start chasing just once i fear you will fail.
Stay focused, and remember tomorrow comes around quicker than you think !! |

you need to be careful, once you lose few quids then difficult to have a come back GL ! |
By:
Oh joy. Another trader who has so little experience they have to ask for the loan of an Excel spreadsheet to work out how to green up, trying to chase an arbitrary goal on an arbitrary date.

Does anyone have an excel spreadsheet that will give me the odds to trade and amounts in order for a level green? u kidding right? if not, then i suggest u stop as u will lose... still if you want download one of the api products.. geeks toy, gruss etc.. auto green plus lot of other features like charts, dutch etc... also dont you think for trading your spread is huge e.g. back at 1.89, lay at 1.69.... see Uncle Ho's thread in this forum, he is trading footie games pre kick-off.... |

It didnt take long for the knockers to come on here and knock me did it? What is it with people just wanting to say something for the sake of it. (Thanks for the info ocean, I was looking for something in excel to help me, i use a strange thing called my brain and a calculator usually but wanted something to log it with.
Well day 2 Starting with £10103, been scouring and mulling over alot of markets today, so just off for a second read of the racing post before making any decisions. good luck to all who endeavour to make some money today. |

Its fair to say not everyone is computer minded, that does not make them bad traders !!

Of course I'm knocking you - you're the 2374682364th person to come on here and do this.
You don't indicate you're doing anything special or clever or different. Good luck to you, genuinely, but I'm convinced you'll end up regretting starting this thread in time. And you don't need to be "computer-minded" to know where the basic tools are to be found, or how to do them yourself - if you can't spend 15 minutes learning how to do it in Excel, I'm not convinced you have the discipline necessary to trade day in, day out, for the rest of the year. Lastly, my knock about an aribtrary amount by an arbitrary date: all "follow me trying to make ££££" threads do this, and I never understand it. Why £250k? Why by the end of the year? Why not £1 million by the start of the Olympics? Why not £30k by Easter? Why that amount? Why that date? It's arbitrary. And it's also why you'll probably fail. You're "aiming" for a specific amount in a specific time frame. That's one step removed from chasing. If you want to protect your bank, just see what develops - it's OK to not trade for a day. It's OK to take time off, or to draw some cash down and spend it on a holiday if you're doing well. But to say "I want to make £££ by xx/yy/zzzz" is how everybody seems to come off the rails. |

Replies: 113 21 Mar 11 13:10 I have never started a forum topic or been heavily involved in the forum however having set my stall out to achieve the above from a starting bank of £10000, I just wondered who would be interested in seeing this evolve? I have scratched around on Betfair for a while however lack of discipline has made me break even over the last 2 years. Mistake no 1, blaming lack of discipline for market efficiency. |

I wish you luck STA. I will follow your bets with interest.

If i was using Monopoly money I would be using more than the stakes now! This is my money and the thread is a way of keeping myself focused not achieving popularity (SamuelMorse)I just hoped some people would join me along the way.

Nice start so far. All the best with this pal - don't worry about the people on here who give negative comments...they don't have to follow this, beats me why they open the thread in the first place.

By:
I have no doubt you can do it.
Watching with interest. |

Morning All - Last nights result was never in doubt, should have gone for the under 2.5s but hey a wins a win. Up early today for the Cricket, Pakistan to Beat West Indies £1000 @ £1.55, already got a lay in there at 1.15 for £1100, can see that being achived before 25 overs is bowled either way. Pretty confident about this one, more so than tomorrows game. Good luck all - Bank is now £10719.
|
By:
Did you not want equal green? I had the impression earlier that was what you wanted to do with your trades. Doing well so far keep it going.
|
By:
job done but i'd probably level that green out at 1.07

Mistake no 1, blaming lack of discipline for market efficiency. Indeed, the most oft stated load of cobblers spouted on these forums. |
By:
I still have alittle of the gambler in me even whilst trading, like to have a higher green one way or the other (For interest) Took 26 overs to lay the 1.15 missed by an over my target!
|
By:
what price would u say you are to complete the challenge ?
|
By:
the only way i can see you meet the target is through luck, your bets till now have shown no system or trading capability.. not to knock you down but i think once you start hitting a bad run, you will either quit mid-way or lose your bank...
good luck and i hope you prove me wrong... |
