It was 0-0 at half time, the odds usually reflect what's happening better than anything. Hard luck uptomynuts, I take it the 0-1 was corrected soon after you placed the bet? You could try contacting them but I fear you won't get much joy.

This reminds me of a night match about a year ago, when all the live score websites were displaying a goal and updated scoreline of 3-1. Trading was occurring on 3-1 as if it was the current score, then 5 minutes later 2-1 flickered into life again and the score reverted back! Carnage!

It's just occurred to me that if BF were displaying 0-1 that might go some way to explain why the 0-0 was still trading at it's kick off odds nearly 30 minutes in.

He laid 0-0. It ended 2-0.

He won.

I believe he laid it in the HT market unfortunately. We'll probably never see him again if he's lost the whole bank.

Its ok guys (yeh i laid 0-0 in HT market) for about 160 (had built it up from 30) but i dunno what was going on in that game half time ran to like 55 minutes! So here i was making a mess in my pants after I saw betfairs mistake but i started to back 0-0 and i escaped with 90 euro so i only lost about 60-70

I guess il be more cautious from now. If it looks too good to be true it must be!

This was a learning experience! I believe what i did is called trading right? I was able to salvage over half of what I was standing to lose so even though I lost some I am delighted im not stuck depositing more!

Score sites can be wrong, it's very rare to find the money wrong.

Was this on Betfair's live scores page?

No it wasn't. I was following the match and the BF (from a 3rd party) Live Scores data was correctly showing 0-0.

I sometimes rely solely on the BF live score site, and have never seen it wrong yet.

Yeah was just on the BF site I just pressed sports and on the right side> the live now section showed bosnia winning 1-0 with something like 22 minutes gone! I normally use flashscore.com to watch scores as the time is more accurate and sometimes has live updates which you can watch!

Ha, I dont think being opportunistic is really stealing!
Either way made a mistake, paid for it and learned something from it.
Point is tho if people are to rely on the BF system for correct score then it should be correct! I assume something happened in the game with the 10 or so minutes of injury time in the first half!

and to anyone who is happy i got "stung" as if you wouldnt do the same if you saw it there lol

I suspect that it's not the fact that you've been 'opportunistic' that has caused annoyance. It's the fact that, having taken an advantage of a seeming opportunity of this type and got it wrong, you elected to come on to the forum crying about your mistake and looking to blame someone other than yourself without any valid cause.

I didnt really intend to take it any further than to see peoples opinions on it, raise the issue and ofc vent some obviously understandable frustrations!

Now on the note of "without any valid cause" lets be real here, regardless of the t&c (keeping in mind im only talking to other betfair customers and not talking to betfair about my rights or anything like that)the score was displayed wrong I made a bet, then the score was corrected. Are you to tell me you dont think thats a cause for a mild annoyance?

Its not like i'm here moaning demanding money back I just wanted to talk about the issue on the forum which does not seem unreasonable to me at all.

I came on and took my loses in good humour, spoke about learning my lesson and dont think i complained too much all I asked was is ther eanything to do about it and I even expressed I was doubtful!

btw thanks for finding the t&c for me I was not interested enough in searching it as I could safely bet (get it we're on a betting site...ha) that they would have one like that!

Never bet on anything involving Bosnia.

I would be unlikely to rely solely on a live scores website to place bets. If I did choose to do so, I would ensure that I was fully aware of the risks involved in doing so.

If I had placed a bet in the circumstances that you described above, I would be annoyed at myself for having made such a mistake but given those particular circumstances I certainly wouldn't comment about it on the forum.

Your first post on this matter did not, in my opinion, contain any trace of good humour and appeared to be an attempt to discover if there was any grounds under which your bet (error) could be voided. I appreciate that in your later posts you do at least seem more willing to accept that the error was ultimately your fault.

Btw I agree with your comments in general, which is why I avoid IR betting.

I would be unlikely to bet IR on events for which I could not access some type of 'live' picture or audio feed (whether that feed be TV, radio or web-based). My betting obviously also depends on my estimation of the delay of the relevant feed.

I sometimes use scoreboards in addition to feeds but personally I do not feel comfortable relying on a scoreboard alone. That is not to say that scoreboards shouldn't be used alone, sometimes live scoreboards can be quicker than any of the available feeds, it is simply my preference.

I posted here but it never showed up, I was asking if anyone knows a system or guidelines on the site thats good for beginners because i generally rely on guess work and it works ok i have the ability to build up from 20-30 euro up to about 150 then i take out 50 float around 70-100 for a bit and lose it all and deposit again! I'd like to break this habbit so does anyone know a good place to start?

Jt in my defence i did say lol and tone is hard to take on from text alone so since you seem like a smart man (or woman) how bout we agree to take my word for it I wasnt fuming or anything i was even joking about a mess in my pants and said lol!

I generally use those sites for football and espn for basketball scores since I work 2 jobs and am doing law in college time is not something I have the luxury of atm so i tend to bet on the go!

As rather more prolific posters than yourself on this thread have previously been advised, it's highly unlikely that anyone is going to reveal their edge too you.

Rather than looking for a magic system, you could instead gain quite a lot of useful information by searching these forums. This forum, General Betting, contains a much higher proportion of interesting betting related threads than any of the other sections.

Contrarian, I have seen it go wrong. For instance, it goes 1-0 and 5 seconds later it is changed to 0-1 when they make a mistake.

There was A swedish cup match last year some time, early in the cup, two nothing teams, an illiquid market.

fbol 24 put up a score of 1-0 the market on match odds moved accordingly, 10 mins later fbol 24 changed it to 0-1. There must have been no one at all watching the match and betting.

BF Live Score often has the teams listed the wrong way round!
