if there are problems with the site why on earth are you doing keep bets> if the site goes down and you cant cancel them, then it comes back up someone will take the free money if events have moved against you |

Getting better, was wondering that myself. When this happened first time a few weeks ago and I lost, a market where I would have won part of it back I didn't, as there was a bet on it that got hoovered when it came back up. I'd only do a keep bet today if you're sure you'd be happy with it if the site goes down again.

bot testing ... no keep-bet no trade, and it worked perfectly ... was just pointing out that some keeps weren't submitting so that those with less hyper-brainy bots would't get caught out

Oh it's completely dead again.
What I'd say they're trying to do is learn the mistakes from last time, and bring the site up, then when they're sure it's stable, unsuspend in a controlled manner, rather than bring it up for tiny periods at a time and allow uncontrolled betting on uncancelled bets, which was worse. Problem is it's obviously not coming up stable. |

It's 'working' now, but taking about 60 seconds to load a page on a 50MB fibre-optic internet connection.

and keep lay bet until in-play but during start the event the site down, after resume the site, 3 goals already. No way to get the stop loss. |

Coming on 18:00, problems started 14:35. Worst outage I'm aware of yet, another award for betfair!
They should stick it at the bottom next to "the Queens Award for fragile IT infrastructure", and "Most poorly designed multicoloured web page by a major company 2011" |

From Wikipedia, one has to wonder at the decision to do this kind of thing, which can't be described as anything less than idiotic. Bad publicity for the sake of a few thousand pounds.

It is frustrating for everyone of course and I am sure there are plenty of very angry and sad people in Betfair Towers today.
However even the best run businesses make mistakes and to be fair to Betfair there have been very very few days as bad as this in its history. Let's not kick them whilst they are down, I'm sure they'll soon have this fixed and will roll back some of the shoddy changes to the site in due course. |
