Some of the matches theres no activity or money and its because people are obviously betting on the big games and more popular fixtures. In the old days when matches inplay were limited there was always action no matter what what obscure league or division. Now especially on weekends its pretty poor. I think to many matches have crushed the other games and they cant compete. Theres a great fixture offering a good opportunity but no action.
I dont understand why because all games kick off at different times so where is everyones money tied up.

No! They should improve the number of inplay markets AND make more games inplay video so that people would have more incentive to bet in a game they can watch for free.
All those percentage fees can give us that much I expect.

I've always thought that it's quantity and not quality. That's essentially the Betfair business plan. They could probably lower commission with a more selective service.

I've wondered myself about that lately. For getting international customers though it might be more attractive to e.g. brazilians or spanish segunda fans if they can bet on 'their' team, but it might spread the cash being bet that bit thinner leading to less general fluidity.

if a better league match is on the second grade stuff stands no chance, but i do agree that if that second grade stuff doesnt even has a video stream it gets really hard to bet on it

The worst is when it LOOKS reasonably fluid and then it all just dissappears, and you've nobody to play (trade) with. Reminds me of my childhood [;)]
Seriously though, complete bummer if you want (or need) to trade and the nearest odd is like 20 ticks off and £3, or even none.
It's cost me before and now I'm warey, even televised ones late night can do that.

I use to put every in play match up on fbol 24 but not now. There are games you know are going to be nothing. Think the money is getting too thin to support so many games. why do they bother with womens football for betting? Or even the reserve games you see sometimes?

Only slightly. I'm very happy with the large number of in-play matches, but putting Turkish reserve games in play is going too far. Even EPL reserve games have hardly any liquidity.
The Unmanaged markets should be either scrapped altogether or put in play properly. That is just a black hole encouraging unfair betting.

If there's not much else on the addicts (and possibly me :)) would be betting on the chilean 4th division pub league U17 reserves if it was at a reasonable hour.
BUT, when other bigger matches are on or on later that day, yes, they'll be ghost towns.
My main gripe with inplay is actually them being adverised inplay then going suspended, BUT (and I hope i'm not tempting fate) BF have been better for that recently, after a very bad period a while ago where it happened very regularly. I mean it was beyond a joke for a while. I'll give them credit for that improvement, hope it continues, as I don't want more bells and whistles on BF, I want reliability. Unreliability makes you angry, stressed, and shall we say far more likely to look 'elsewhere' than anything else.

As self confessed master of the obscure bet, wimmins footie is something I am attracted to, so let's not lose that. Too many people have pre-conceived views about wimmins footie and consequently they throw up value.
The more the merrier, I say. I even took a bet on Bandy last week.

The 4 matches kicking off at 6pm (now) have about £100 each matched on the c/s markets, the odd £2 backing and laying 0-0. BF have added lots of obscure matches over the last few months and many of them kick off with nothing matched at all. I guess they're hoping things will pick up.
I'd like to see more matches, but if no one sees enough liquidity to play in them it seems a bit pointless. Money goes where money goes, and it would be a snowball effect, but who's going to be first?

I actualy prefer markets that don't have too little money, don't have too much money, and so are just right. It's the three bears breakfast approach :)
If it was just a few mega markets, that'd be a bit cr*p.

Three or less would make for quality markets , punters in general would become more involved .Nothing worse than a patchwork of markets to send bettor's running for the bookies
Better to have 3 Aston Martins than 20 Vauxhall Corsa's imo

I prefer two bears at the table and one wandering in the woods waiting to find his bowl of porridge.
Sometimes all the bears are out and about and then one will get hungry, then another does and before you know it all of them are eating away to make Mummy Bear very happy as that means she can put a deposit down on a Vauxhall Corsa.

It gets better when all the bears are at the table. The Mummy bears start crowding around and arguing and then start shouting gazzump, gazzump, gazzupm!
At that point there are more little bears but the Mummy bears have completely lost the plot. And that............... is
........when value appears.

I am sure that there are desperate gamblers looking for a fix any where at any time and that is why the basic techniques can be employed on the most obscure markets any where but not necessarily at any time.
