Remarkably there was NO cash transactions on the account. However there were a number of large transfers to and from some people I do business with. Although it depends what you call large, the largest was £30k.
They were unwilling or unable to understand that these were the result of people placing bets on my behalf.
I had my lawyer deal with the bank on my behalf as I was afraid it would impact on other banking relationships that I have and have been assured - despite the tone of the letter - that this is not the case.
They went as far as to say I could open an onshore Barclays a/c in the UK and I will be testing that this week.
