I specialise in even money shots it's how I make it pay. You have to be patient and only bet when the time is right. Level stakes (4% for me) at all times and if your research is good and you have a genuine edge you can take some wages.
If I back 4/6 or under (laying one horse or betting tennis/darts matches for example) I combine them in doubles/trebles to make them at least 4/6. I do not place the double in a betfair multiple though as you are losing the value by taking a worse price on each selection. I can place one part of a double on a Monday with a bookmaker for example and not combine it with another selection until the opportunity arises (it could be several days and with a different bookmaker) Doubles and trebles are okay as long as you are getting the best price on every selection, if not you cannot possibly make consistent long-term profit having multiple bets. The bookmakers taking your money are literally thieving off you. It's only a tenner you say but even starting with a £100 bank, staking £4, you can grow the bank by at least 10% per week if you are good. 10% compounding soon adds up and the bank will be wage-earning potential. Also starting small you are not going to lose alot and you can see if you have the skill to hit the strike-rate. You can of course continue to gamble and the odd one gets lucky and you may go 7 consecutive winners. Looking back through my results I once went 9 on the trot, but I also went 6 losers on the trot. It's a slow and boring way to invest, but if you are patient, you will soon reap the rewards. The odds on hitting 7 consecutive even money winners is 127/1. The odds on you hitting that are twice as high as you are losing considerable value when placing multiple bets. The odds on me hitting 4x even money winners out of 7 though is big odds-on because I spend hours researching events and finding the value. I would like to see you start a thread on trying to grow the bank 10% each week by staking 4% on each selection (4/6-2/1). It may be a boring thread to most of the losers on here but at least we can see if you have an edge or not. GL |

Thanks for that write up I.QUIT.MY.JOB. I agree with Fat Dodgy in that what you are saying does make a lot of sense. I'll have a right good think about how I wanna play. As Real Deal also says, I think i've lost my edge and maybe tried to rush selections. To be honest, since I completed the challenge last week i've not studied the teams as much, i've just kinda thrown them in there and hoped for the best which has shown as I ain't getting the required results.
I might give your suggestion a go but I don't know if I have the patience and discipline to bet 4% of bank and look for 10% increase per week. I'd prob be looking to increase my bank by 20% to 30% per week until I got up to a grand or so. Once I got to £1000 bank I'd then be more than happy to increase my bank by 10% per week. One flaw I do have though is when I do well and build up a nice big bank I end up getting greedy and staking bigger and if it doesn't come in I then end up chasing. I've been trying to improve this side of things and I am getting there but I do have a bit to go.!!! |

Right,I am out all day tomorrow & with it being a Saturday I was hoping to have 2 bets on this,any way I had so many that I fancied that I have ramped them all together in an 8 leg multi.As you will see the first 4 are in the afternoon & 5-8 in the evening.If the first 4 are winners then I would have put it all on the next 4,so my logic (If I have any)was that there is no difference.It also takes away the bottling out factor.So on that theory here is bet 2 & 3.Also I pressed the 9 instead of a 7 so I have a £97-00 bet on instead of a £77-00 bet.I told you I was a numpty.
