By the way, I didn't say it was a scam, I said it was likely to be a scam.

I hold the following to be true:

Most tipsters know full well that the information they are providing is worthless. They are modern day snake oil salesmen and in my opinion this equates to being a scammer. Some even admit they don't bet their own tips!

A small minority of tipsters may believe that the information they are providing has value, but by my estimation they are almost certainly wrong.

I'm not saying it's not possible for a tipster to provide a valuable service, but it's extremely unlikely. Pick a hundred tipsters at random, how many of these give the customer an edge?

Any tipping service should initially be viewed with skepticism perhaps even distrust, as it statistically very likely that the service is worthless.

What bank did you start with when you went pro?

About €10k.

What did you give up to become pro?

Engineering.

Have you ever been tempted to give up?

You're 'avin' a larf intcha, wouldn't swap this occupation for anything.

Do you set targets?

Not really, like to bag around a monkey a day though.

if so, is it on a daily, weekly, monthly or even yearly basis?

As above.

How many hours a week do you spend on here?

Every afternoon, maybe a couple of hours in the morning then in preparation, depending on the number of cards on. Spent about 5 hours last Saturday morning swatting up coz there was 5 meetings on.

is it worth it

Is it worth what?

There's no downside to this, apart from trying to explain what I do to folk.

I wouldnt trust a tipster that has less than 2 years of proved results, whilst beeing in Profit over that period.... with that beeing said there arent many tipsters left i would trust.

I guess 99% of those salesman just randomly pick horses and then vanish after 6 months or reopen with a different name or something.

A Tipster who cant provide a spreadsheet or table or something of his live tips for at least a few years is probably a scamming idiot too.

Lastly if a tipster is realy good at what he does he would be too busy placing his own money on his tips instead of selling them to the public pushing down prices therfore worsening results for everyone involved.

Do you set targets? Yes

if so, is it on a daily, weekly, monthly or even yearly basis? Daily

How many hours a week do you spend on here? 10

is it worth it? Yes!!!
Tax free ,your own boss, the chalange to get it correct ,and the odd big wind fall adds a bonus.
The downside is not meeting fellow people as most who play regular have to be at home so no interaction as with most other forms of employment but this pays much more for me anyhow.

very interesting points !

I could happily go away and make up a spreadsheet of winners and placed horses with the odd lay thrown in, but i am offering a free 30 day trial !..in truth you will always get people with your views and you are fully entitled to them providing you are not calling me a con artist or likely scammer !.(thats what my free trial is for )

In my experience this site has some good people but just sitting back and watching on the horse racing forum there are countless so called experts who know this or know that and when their horse gets beat they then start saying " what a**!, what a fiddle "

errrr YES that is what happens people, if it aint a classic, if it aint a trial, there is likely to be a fiddle, and all i am saying is that i call my friends every morning and they tell me what horses people are likely to be saying was a fiddle that afternoon....but basically my 30 day free trial enables people to see how i work, i dont always get exact information, but i can guarantee it is better info than most people get by sitting at home, working weights, distance and draws out that are all**and fiddled anyway, i agree about the punting comment that is why i am on here in the afternoons , i always punt on my tips...because even when i was only punting and not tipping i still looked for the fiddles !..

we all know the score with horse racing, im just saying that i have a better advantage because i dont listen to zoe, cooper and sun tan man moaning about fanshawe putting him away !
i know about that before it happens !

also i am not just a horse racing service , it is very hard to put people away when there is a field of only 2 like darts, football, cricket, tennis , ..

im not being**y i cant stand**y tipsters who are this and that and reckon they are the best thing on 2 legs, i am a knowledgeable person on sport who has friends in the horse racing industry..

i think what you have also got to think about is that there are a lot of people who cant, wont, dont have time to throw themselves whole heartedly into horse racing, you all know as well as i do it takes over your life if you are looking for that non trier in a race, if you are looking for a horse full of legs but blocked in, writing down names , remembering things..some people want the buzz without the grief and is £50 a month worth it to prevent all the aggro but still get the fun and the winners, i believe it is yes !

is how do you prove they are genuine results , i could make any old crap up couldnt i ?

so your argument holds no water does it ?

"lets have genuine results yeah anna your right lets have genuine results !!"....ha ha ha ..a result is past tense !! past tense is easy to demonstrate ...how the hell does that prove anything at all ??????

politicians make a living from massaging figures !!
am i supposed to be genuine only by providing results !!

69, you're the dim one i'm afraid, prices are everything in betting yet you've just put up some names.
Three different people could back the same selections and one could lose, one break even and one win due to the prices they have taken.
I think you're hoping to find some naive people who'll hand you some free money, i hope you fail miserably. I'd give up on the insults too because you're clueless.

my god how dim can you get !!

You have just proved it.
If your tips are so good, why do you need to sell them?
If they aren't good enough to back, then you are selling sub-standard services. In other words scamming. If your tips are good, then why on earth would you ever need to sell them?

Unfortunately for all tipsters this is the Catch22.

Even if a tipping service has 2 years of genuine profit behind it, as soon as a lot of folk start following the tips, the odds become shorter than they otherwise would be and the value is only there for the early birds. There'll be no profit at SP.

So the tipster should have a maximum number of people that he sends the tips to.

I am going to be a tipster, but not as all that have gone before me. You know, trying to tip the winner of a race.

I am going to tell you how the race will be run and how to make a profit before it is over. And sometimes before it has even begun!!

Betfairy i sort of get your point on "why do i need to sell my tips if they are so good "

that is a valid point and a bit of a naive one too !

money !

isnt that a bit like asking Alan Sugar why he does apprentice when he owns Amstrad ? or

why does theo paphitis do dragons den when he has enough already ?

you can never have enough money and in many ways your argument sort of strengthens my case !

if what i was offering was crap i wouldnt be able to make money would i ?

look guys im not going round and round on this one !!

i have had a bit of fun and im genuinely sorry for some near the mark comments ! i guess you feel about me the way i feel about those clowns who go to cash convertors and buy back the same product for 50 % more a week later ! or the idiots who bet on roulette machines in the bookies, i appreciate the scams out there but i really am being genuine about this and although im maybe naive about setting up my site it is an accurate one and will get many happy punters !

im done with arguing over it , you guys are unfair to judge me without knowing the facts, and i have to accept that im liable to have the anti tipster brigade on my backs !

we all have our mini pet hates in a sport or working environment i dont like working with smokers , they are far worse than me ! they screw their colleagues for thousands by working 2/3 of the time a non smoker does with all his/her fag breaks !

they are real scammers ! not me trying to pass my info on to others for a few quid ! x peace all please on this subject now !

Well I for one think you deserve the Nobel Prize for Charity. I mean, it is so very noble of you to give away free money. Personally if my tips were any good I'd be maxing out all my credit cards, taking out second mortgages, and selling all my possessions just so that I could get even more money on my own tips.

On the other hand, if you know that your tips are worth f*ck all, then it's best not to do that, and simply scam people instead.
By:

If you want more money, why not simply increase your stakes?
By:
soixanteneuf
When: 09 Mar 10 18:15
you are entitled to that view !

the fact that you readily admit you would re-mortgage , cash in all your credit cards just to fund your tips if you were me indicates you might go to cash converters each month !

minimal exposure of funds and building a steady pot over a duration of time is the key im afraid , i dont encourage stupid gambling with stakes that are beyond the means of a normal family man/woman.

if you are able to make 50 k + a year gambling as a minumum good luck to you ! plenty of eople out there are not !

im not aiming this at the know it alls who spend all day on here its for the punter who wants a second income ! but my emails to my client base have all the info they need ! thanks ! x

Unless you can answer that with an adequate answer, you are a scammer.
By:
soixanteneuf
When: 09 Mar 10 18:29
are you serious with that question ?

any good gambler never enters the world of increasing stakes !

no tipster is fool proof , we all have losing runs, its just that with the people im involved with i have a higher average than most note i say most,,, i couldnt take anyone serious in a gambling world who asks about increasing stakes !!

you work hard to build a pot steadily and profitably you most certainly do not risk the pot with a stupid increased stake !!

im worried for you betfairy ! selling everything you own, remortgaging a house , dear oh dear you got it bad !!
By:
