Got one that works on here, backing outsiders. Works because of the massive difference between sp and prices of outsiders on betfair.

Back the favourite in 2-horse races.

Not many bets (62 since Feb 2003) but 80% strike rate and a 5% level stake profit at Industry SP.

Losing sequences of 1 (9 times) and 3 (once).

Winning sequences of 1 (3 times), 2 (once), 5 (three times), 8, 10 & 12 (all once).

As you can imagine the prices are a somewhat cramped!

Lay Tim Henman/Andy Murray/next big British thing to win the Grand Slams on Betfair.

unbeaten system so far. (!)

Henman used to go off 7`s ish for Wimbledon when he shoulda been 20`s. Murray seems like a fine player but his odds will be simply too short on here (nb. started fav. last year in OZ ahead of Federer in the betting) so I confidently predict future success for this.

I use the Elliott Shirt system

Presumably that means you're making up a completely fictional story which you'll hoodwink a gullible reporter into getting printed in a third rate rag, then you'll go to ground when Betfair rats you out for a liar and the paper prints a remission?

Pipe down! Anyway as an ex-programmer, I muight have helped but I remember you ignoring my offer a year or so ago, which was probably a blessing as I managed to computerise several of my systems in that time.

Here' s some advice... Share your knowledge and the world becomes more bountiful.

For anyone who wants to go pro - I think it can take a long time to find what system (if any) that you are comfortable with.
I have an article written by a long term gambler which quotes the passage from novice to confident in which the person goes up and down - at times thinking he has found 'the way' several times over!!!
It is only after being burnt several times he finds systems and gains the confidence to follow what he is ok with. I used to have a lot of success with the football cash generator and some savers on correct scores,(burnt and crashed several times) but have found the best to be dutching correct scores and doing a lot of matches but mainly ones I can watch with a view to trade. I am now looking back at a variation of the FSG - standby!!!!! However if you watch a lot of live footy you will see where there are many opportunities to trade.
all the best.

Hey Pipedreamer...
Drop me an email: nasalfluids at aol.com ( my spam address )

I've got my own Betfair API program which autobets Horses and dogs, maybe I can adapt it to your
system for mutual benefit.

Let me know on this thread if you've emailed me as I don't check that email address often.

In reply to DFC IRONMAN,its for horseracing.Escapee i will e-mail after this post.My system is not stat based.
As for systems in general, they work for a while then fade.I turn everything into an equation. An equation works for a while [sometimes for a year or more]then fades out.you can have up to 100 equations fading in and out,the trick is to put them all together and find the clusters, obviously as you do them an elemination process comes in and your left with your top 3,with a rating down to 7th place.
It works well in big races,i.e.Irish National, top 4 giviing the exacta, also exacta in 6 in the Brittania,5 in the Hunt Cup,5 in American idols Cheltenham handicap etc.
Ihave to do it manually at the mo,which at 61 is tiring, and because of tiredness ive frustratingly ive made mistakes, and tiredness means that i cant do as much work meaning i find less equations.
My method is in a way related to the saying that finding winners is like looking for a needle in a haystack, true of course, but i do the equivalent and actually in a sense search the WHOLE haystack!!,a mammouth task in fact, but when you find it.WOW!!!!!.

Not systems as such but an insight nevertheless as to how the Betfair markets evolve and become more efficient.

There was a time that a horse's price being shorter even momentarily on here than at the bookies would make it worth backing. This strategy started to struggle in around 2005, although the edge persisted longer at all weather tracks (unsurprisingly).

My first successful bot simply traded football pre-off using an algorithm that essentially kept the right side of the overround. It made 145k between Jan 06 and Nov 08. It hasn't made a penny since, mainly because people with team news move the market much more aggressively these days.

I also had a place market bot that was reasonably successful on Uk and Irish racing from Jan 06 until December 06, at which point it started losing nearly as quickly as it had won and I turned it off!

Curiously, other strategies that I run have seen virtually no degradation in profitability over time, although that, of course, may not last.

I'm not a believer of systems but i did notice a pattern at a certain American track and started to follow it last year, some will obviously find this hard to believe but it lost it's 100% record last week but has returned to winning ways since.

pipedreamer - You say "equations" .....do you mean you allocate points to each horse for each factor you believe is relevant for that particular race ....at that particular distance.....in that class of race .....on the specific going etc?

You may well allocate points for -

1. RACE RECORD positions over last few races .
2. Whether a horse has been a C/CD/D/BF etc.
3. Trainer- general.
4. Trainer - specific points for that race type etc.
5.Weight.
etc etc

Naturally i have not mentioned other FACTORS that are relevant.......but you presumably believe they are ....and allocate points for them too.

It is possible to -

1. Download all the races for a day.
2. Input them automatically into computer system.
3. The system will automatically allocate points in accordance with EACH factor that can be done without your subjective input .

You then have to tick specific boxes for each factor which needs your input........COMBINATION factor etc etc

4. The system will then automatically add up all points for each horse, then show horses in rated order.

Is that what you are looking for ?
