Odwyer's famous horse laying thread in which had had 50 successful lays before the 51st in which he "layed off" just before his layed horse romped home. The thread ended with Odywer saying "And that's how you win money laying horses". Was very amusing.

Ok, it's not on the forum, but it's been discussed on the forum:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8U481VOmobg Pete Nordsted about his book "mastering betfair". He talks about a major event in his 'trading career' being losing £500 and having to call his wife about it :D Respect to him for getting his book published though! |

what about on the tennis forum when the scoreboard was the wrong way round and showing the opposite score?
"free money, literally" |
|
By:
The one by the kid who discovered the cross matching was a classic thread with a very sad ending as remember his father coming on here to say his son passed away? :(
An all time stupid thread (or maybe the most clever of wind-ups) is the one by Dinosaur that was recently brought back on here where he discussing laying 0-0 and then backing 0-0 once a team has scored :) |

Sometimes I wonder why I am here but the betfair forums just crack me up. The tennis forum is good.
The in-play fred on the voided Daveydenko match with people screaming about the free money on offer. Another on tennis where the live scoreboard was showing the scores for the wrong player. Again people screaming about free money only to realise that the data was wrong. But one of the best was the moneysaving dot com comments copied about a FGS market where the pink book was going 100%+. In all of these, people thought they had found free money. :| |

Was there a thread at the time where Bradley Dredge was given a 30 on the online scoreboards in a golf tournament when it should have been a 3? Went on to win the tournie if memory serves me correct.

I lost the link in my bookmarks but there was a tennis match, women's, where someone spoke the language of one of the competitors that was leading by a set and up 4-0 (?) when her father said to her "go to 5-1 then retire".
A forumite was watching and understood him and posted "I'm shaking...eetc" and started laying, advising everyone else to. It was debated and he kept insisting he was telling the truth. She was at sub 1.10. People joined in laying and sure enough she retired. The forumite was named a hero. I said knighthood. If anyone has the link, it is a great read. |

Two more both on the Football forum:
