I reckon that the time has come for us to petition Betfair for a new category under the other groups section here on the forum - The "Head in Hands" section
This would be a place to archive and add all those posts that we read to cheer us up after that losing bet, and keeping them all in one place would save us from having to ttt them.
Some example "Head in Hands" Topics
a. The guy who said he'd swim the channel with his mother in law on his back b. Tevez benchwarming c. MT FULL BANK tips d. Liverpool FC 25% on your money for 2 hours investment
Any other examples or further thoughts for our new section?
Odwyer's famous horse laying thread in which had had 50 successful lays before the 51st in which he "layed off" just before his layed horse romped home. The thread ended with Odywer saying "And that's how you win money laying horses". Was very amusing.

Ok, it's not on the forum, but it's been discussed on the forum:

Pete Nordsted about his book "mastering betfair". He talks about a major event in his 'trading career' being losing £500 and having to call his wife about it :D
Respect to him for getting his book published though!

I'm paraphrasing; "There's something wierd going on in the football markets" thread about the discovery of betfair' s cross matching bot which they kept quiet about, but later had to admit it.

The one by the kid who discovered the cross matching was a classic thread with a very sad ending as remember his father coming on here to say his son passed away? :(
An all time stupid thread (or maybe the most clever of wind-ups) is the one by Dinosaur that was recently brought back on here where he discussing laying 0-0 and then backing 0-0 once a team has scored :)

GASHWAN 14 Jan 21:27 what about on the tennis forum when the scoreboard was the wrong way round and showing the opposite score?
"free money, literally"
Levine/Isner, oddly now locked which is a shame

Sometimes I wonder why I am here but the betfair forums just crack me up. The tennis forum is good.
The in-play fred on the voided Daveydenko match with people screaming about the free money on offer.
Another on tennis where the live scoreboard was showing the scores for the wrong player. Again people screaming about free money only to realise that the data was wrong.
But one of the best was the moneysaving dot com comments copied about a FGS market where the pink book was going 100%+.
In all of these, people thought they had found free money. :|

Was there a thread at the time where Bradley Dredge was given a 30 on the online scoreboards in a golf tournament when it should have been a 3? Went on to win the tournie if memory serves me correct.

How has no one mentioned the 'money saving experts' goalscorer thread ripping the p!ss out of them when they thought they was onto a 'free money' good thing. Pure gold.

I lost the link in my bookmarks but there was a tennis match, women's, where someone spoke the language of one of the competitors that was leading by a set and up 4-0 (?) when her father said to her "go to 5-1 then retire".
A forumite was watching and understood him and posted "I'm shaking...eetc" and started laying, advising everyone else to.
It was debated and he kept insisting he was telling the truth. She was at sub 1.10.
People joined in laying and sure enough she retired.
The forumite was named a hero. I said knighthood.
If anyone has the link, it is a great read.

Anyone remember the poster on the darts forum who was giving us life stories from various sports stars? Think his name was farthouse or something. Van de voort story was a good one.
The day in the life of a betfair employee was a good one also.

There was one guy who started a challenge. There was a long introduction talking about "the long months ahead". His first bet was laying 6 goals or more in a liverpool game. Finished 3-3. It was so funny, I wish I could remember his name so I could bring the thread back up.

One on the Cricket or Gen Betting forum ( similar to Moneysavings scam but a few years earlier). The thread starter ,an Aussie , opens up saying anyone interested there is an overound book waiting to be layed on Top Runs scorer in the one day international the following day. 20 minutes later the reply came " thanks for that I owe you a pint". 50 minutes later " I can`t thank you enough ,I`m green for a right few quid and the backers keep coming back for more". 90 minutes later " I am starting to get a little bit concerned here" It went on for a few hours before the full horror kicked in.
When the non-starters were taken out he had a huge red screen and no where near enough funds to cover the loss ,can`t remember his forum name and don`t think we ever found out the final outcome.

Frames, Betfair had to eat it on that one because they were not licensed to give credit, hence any bets which left the punter with a negative balance were illegal ( FSA/Consumer Credit Act )
