Hi Usaidit, still watching with great interest, not easy is it picking place lays at the top end of the market. I'm reluctant to interfer uninvited but if you are interested I do have a suggestion which might help you which was part of my place laying straegy and which saved me quite alot of lays going wrong. If you want my input indicate on here and I'll watch out for it. Good luck, Montie.

Hi Montie,
I've just been doing record keeping. Since you started your thread, and inc where I've continued to place lay, my ROI after comm (5%) is a rather dissapointing 3.2%. Suppose I should be grateful for any profit, but it's hard work. Are you up to anything interesting on systems/strategies ? |

Hi PHS, I'm trading at the moment with a successful strategy I've developed but it has to be kept private because even 2 or 3 people doing it would reduce its effectiveness.
Hi Usaidit, when I was place laying, after I had found a horse which met my criteria the final check I made in the last 15 minutes before the off was to watch the bookmakers win odds and if they move in sgnnificantly I abandonded the lay, the the odds stayed about the same or went out the lay went ahead. The odds movement in the last 15 minutes seems to be a pretty good indicator of what the clever money is expecting of the horse. You probably remember the number of times I called off a lay just before the off and saved many a lay going wrong. |
