kohaku/real deal. EITHER, you both have systems that work and you're trying to put others off spending time looking for them therefore possibly reducing your edge.........OR you are like the many other sceptics on this forum................seriously ill informed. Wake up and smell the coffee boys or keep using that deposit button.

Makes no odds to me.

i reckon there is many punters on here that follow a set of rules to make consistent profit,i also think most over complicate things, you dont need a long winded set of rules and regulations, sometimes its the simply things that work best.

People who want to go pro often fail to consider several very important factors, one being that you have to increase your profits by about 5% year on year just to allow for (official) inflation.

Probably one of the most difficult occupations you could find, imo.

Trademark. Ive been reading form and punting for 45yrs,there are NO SYSTEMS,there are strategies though.

if your'e pretty good judge ,you should be able to find horses looking likely 2f out/ 0r 2nd last NH. I Back/Lay IR to make a profit either way, roughly twice a much for the win.I reckon I can achieve this 75-80% of the time. My 1 bet today was Jamieson Gold 4.20A -Backed av 10.71. Layed 3.0

My edge as you call it would be Hunter Chases,an area where not many know much at all, only what the press tell them, which is limited at best.

I used to be worse, through boredom, losing a lot back mainly on ATR sh1t. Now I write down the bets and times of races to get involved, its taken me 7yrs on here to finally stop being stupid.
By:

kohaku - next time there is a HUNTER CHASE.....
let's see if my system can do as well as yourself.

You say THERE ARE NO SYSTEMS.......naturally I still disagree.

The hard part is discovering the "best" way to usea system's
ratings.

Having , over the period from 15 July to 20 July 2008, rated
hundreds of races, I believe the results for ratings were up to a
high standard. IT WAS ME THAT WAS NOT UP TO USING THEM!

Trust you agree that if my system fairs well re rating HUNTER
CHASES, then perhaps there is a system that works to a good
standard
.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for the next HUNTER CHASE...not in IRELAND
though ( if they have such race types)....as the system can only
handle BRITISH racing ....otherwise it blows up!!!!!!!

Hope you have a good season re NH races when they start ......

One bet a day? Is less really more?I suppose it's good from the discipline angle to HAVE to choose the likeliest best bet or trade that will make you profit, but one of the problems is there's so many ways to bet on here (backing and laying) that it's almost like an angle can be found to bet across a multitude of sports 24/7.

I mean before the exchanges there was the cliche of the professional gambler who has one bet every two weeks! (because he can only back with a bookmaker, and no trading opportunities available either in play, he is then highly selective to make it pay) I don't think that approach is relevant at all now with the way the betting markets have been revolutionised, but food for thought that some will still be highly selective.

I'd reiterate the best of both worlds approach, day job for security, if all goes well on Betfair a nice little bonus. And you can still place bets through your mobile etc at work, or if your company is lenient towards gambling sites then through the net at work!
By:

When: 28 Aug 08 21:43
no needto give up your job though is there, you can do nearly all sports outside working hours and at weekends on here, assuming youre a long term winner you make a tax free profit to add to your pay. if youre not a long term winner going full time wont change this.

All these advices of yours are no good for bums.

If you are a bum do go full time. It`s perfect. You get a great excuse to remove yourself from the work market. You get a cool cover story to tell people when they ask you what you do. And since you are bum you essentialy don`t care about having money anyways so you will regard anything earned here as bonus money so you`re not even under pressure.

If you want to work at home staring at a computer screen all day for £30k a year why dont you just be an IT consultant?

that way you dont have to tell the wife and kids you have lost their life savings

trading and gambling are the same thing

ask the boys in the city

traders just have more fancy software to help them.

you are still at the disposal of a random event.
