I would be grateful of some sensible feedback on whether peolpe think it is possble to make a long term profit from laying single teams pre KO.

I would be looking at starting with a bank of £6,000 & generally laying teams initially for a £100 liability. No set rules as to what teams to lay, just really my own reserached picks, though generally no higher than 6.0.

Have researched this previously, and thought it was possible. Decided on Thursday would start recording my picks up until the end of the month ( give the season a little time to calm down) with a view to actually going live at the end of the month.

My Pick so far are:

Polonia Warsaw at Breda
Cherno More v PSV
Ahlen at St Pauli
Sheff Utd at Boro
Stuttgart at Wolfsburg
Bristol City at Preston
Barnsley at Sheff Wed
Scunthorpe at Cardiff
Newcastle at WBA
Kladno v Mlada
Hansa Rostock at Bielfield
Darlington v Leeds
Grays at Histon
Hayes & Yeading v Stevenage
Bury v WBA

If this was for real, would be £1500 up in 6 days. So , is that classic paper trading success when there is no pressure, or can this be done.

I would be satisfied if could make £200-300 a week profit.

All feedback welcome.

If you have no set rules as to why you are laying a certain team you are doomed.

Thanks for the feedback Dayna. Not sure if I made myself clear in the original post. I am not laying teams blindly. I feel my picks are extensively reserached with regards to team news, head to head, form etc.

Hi Carson,

I take it you mean you are laying for £100 profit, as you state above that it is £100 liability, if you had been laying teams such as Bury and Darlington in the last couple of days your liability would have been approx £500 on each bet?

Yes TOTGA, you are correct, I meant a £100 green, with a red of approx £300-500. Got all excited with my first ever post!!!

carson is 5/1 going to be your maxium price you would lay a team at and if the game was in running would you trade out
By:

When: 12 Aug 09 15:58
Sevey, I think 5/1 would be as high as I would want to go. Been burnt too many times in the past!! With regards to trading out, I doubt it, but I maybe open to changing that if it was a game I had pictures to & felt it warranted it.

Carson- GL with this system, i feel that you have the potential to ossibly make a profit but obviously the above is such a small example of bets.

The only reason that i feel you have an excellent set of lay bets above is because i had also identified most of those lay bets, the only 2 bets i thought were tricky were Bristol City and Newcastle but they both turned out to be winning bets for you!.

Last Night in the Carling Cup i predicted 18 bets that i would have layed (average odds of approx 5.0, of those 17 lay bets won and one lost, the one being a lay bet on 'the draw' between Barnet & Watford, i would have made approx 13pts profit in one evening, or laying to £100 green, a possible £1300 profit!

Not exactly sure what i am trying to say above but i think if you study hard, have the 'bounceback' ability after a losing bet then you are in with a chance of making a long term profit.

GL with your future bets and i will also be looking into this thread from time to time.

Excellent tipping Carson, my main betting bank is based on the same strategy, laying up to max of 6.0. I lay one game at a time though for a 2% of bank gain so my liability will never be more than 10% max, less for the more evenly matched and harder to predict games. Had a bad day yesterday though, my 2 lays were Argentina @ around 3.2 and Australia @ 4.0!! Thats a 4.4% and a further 6% of bank loss, so a few losers can hit hard. But im in profit long term and feel laying can be a winning strategy. Studying the stats and team news is a must for every game though, otherwise forget it. I'll follow your thread with interest and compare picks, i notice you had a few lays i had myself last weekend, Good Luck with this.

Howya Altobelli. I remember you from Laying Correct Score Thread.

I am threading water on that and am toying with laying teams with reasonable success so far.

Good luck with your lays.

this not only logs your results for you but if proven succesful you can sell your tips for a fee you choose

Hey sligo, my CS lays were a side bet experiment, currently testing a 2+ goals system at present as a side bet. This is my main betting bank and going along nicely at present. Good luck with your lays.

Dany Boi,

I used to work for a Tipping site & was paid by the owner. I have SUPERB systems for both Lays & correct scorelines. I base ALL my bets around these systems (For example, I predicted Liverpool 4 Arsenal 4 & took it as Gospel that was going to be the score - I backed 7 goals @ 50.00, the hat trick @ 37.00, both teams NO to clean sheet, 3-3 @ 100 then layed off @ 2.00 & 1.10!! In fact, the ONLY thing I never got was 2 goals in the first half!!)
Thing is, the Lay system needs at LEAST 5 Home/Away games for it to work. Last years stats across Europe were 96/8 - A 92 percent S/rate & HUGE profits - Max odds 7.00 (Longest run was 22 games without a loss!!)
I'll be doing these again this year so be sure to follow...

Good Morning All. I hope all that played with the limited pickings yesterday had some success. I will hopefully be back on later on with what I see as some potential lays. Likely I will not be playing much this weekend. Off to see U2 at Wembley, and then straight up to Man U on Sunday, and one thing I have learnt from my past attempts, is do not get involved when you do not have the full time to devote to your research or 100% focus!!

i wasn't asking for tips milk. I can find my own bets. Was just suggesting it as a good bet tracking tool for carsten. Someone who advertises there service based on one result where they were convinced that the result would be 4-4 and seemed to put all their eggs in one basket is not for me thank you

No Danny, will do early next week. At the momment, just using something the wife has created on excel. Manic weekend coming up now though, so gambling will have to be put on the back burner. Typical. my sister decides to visit from Vienna & U2 play Wembley on the opening weekend of the prem. How inconsiderate!!
