Barca v Newcastle - Newcastle will try to take all of the football out of the game for 80 minutes then look to burgle a goal. Just worry there is no plan B.
0-0 a definite runner at 30.

Bayern v Atalanta
At 1.4 surely Bayern are one the bets of the season.

Tottenham v At Madrid
At Mad don't have to win but surely should not be a bigger price than Spurs. Back at 2.86

Liverpool v Galatasaray
A very shaky Liverpool side could succumb. 3.4 is too big for Gala to qualify. But a bet on a win in 90 mins @ 11.0 is no moonshot.
Expect the Atmosphere at Anfield to deteriorate from minute 20 if Liverpool are not in front.

bayern are not a bet of the season if they have to field a 16 year old keeper, which they may do
Report tobiasr March 18, 2026 5:30 PM GMT
also likely they will field three other youth players. they have such a big lead a win is of no consequence
Report unitedbiscuits March 18, 2026 5:36 PM GMT
But if I'm not mistaken, Germans have no scruples about beating teams when they don't have to.
After all, Bayern have the Bundesliga sewn up and I'm sure Kane has an eye on the stats.

But they could never just hang on for penalties, they don't have the players for that. Even their 'holding midfielder' is a converted centre forward.

No concept of keeping it tight, taking it back home and getting the job done. PSG are a team who are unbelievable finishers too, same as last year but even better so far this year. Arsenal don’t play open football. They would rather not have the ball and nick it from a high press but if they must have possession Arsenal generally try to cheat a free kick or penalty, failing that play for a corner ir long-throw.

Germany and Spain are the rivals for a 5th spot. Arsenal KO'd a German side. Spurs, Newc and City got KO'd by Spanish sides. Just as well Arsenal won 8/8 in the group.

The CL refs are tougher on corners. The whole of the PL is the same on set-pieces. Even Liverpool are doing it now. United too. But everyone blames Arsenal because they are better at it (not that they are scoring many from set-pieces lately). 2 unstoppable goals from outside the box last night. Bodyline anti-football, please.

Report lurka March 18, 2026 10:30 PM GMT
The English sides did poorly this round because, apart from City, their players and managers are not experienced at this level (CL KO level) and they got KO'd by much more experienced players and managers at this level, which is massive in a 2 leg format. Pep was as bad as the others but Pep has a long track record of overthinking things in these ties and neutering City.

Look what Arsenal with Kiwior did to that Real side last year and they were missing Mbappe and Jude against City with a caretaker manager.
