Only able to watch highlights on MotD, agree with Murphy, Saka and Timber excellent together, Spurs couldnt cope. I hope Arteta now sticks wirh those two as setup today. I know Spurs have a lot of injuries but new manager has a big job on his hands in remaining matches if he doesnt get players back quickly.

in fairness it is better than 1 in 3. but even so a hell of a stretch to give that quote. besides that the football he sets up to play is turgid and stupefying. isnt even a guarantee of staying up as hes got a relegation on his cv. one trophy win in all those years of management and even that a tinpot one with weak teams

Duncan McKenzie was indeed magic, but unfortunately not often enough as a succession of managers at a number of clubs would testify.
I first saw him play in the 1977 League Cup Final 0-0 borefest against Villa, still had terraces then. Some little sh1t on his dads shoulders incessantly chanted "Mckenzie, Mckenzie" in my right ear'ole throughout the whole ruddy game and it was impossible to move anywhere else, gave me tinnitus for a month  |

No chance of going down but picks all the same players and formation again. Gana's been crap since his return from the Afcon and Ndiaye hasnt been much better. The young players hardly getting a sniff but he's never been any different. Has done his job (stabilsation of the team) and I hope he goes in the summer as I cant watch this for another season. Key them winning the game 1-0.

Everton went down to 10 men early on at Old Trafford but still showed bravery on the ball, played well and deservedly won. Tonight - Pickford long balls to the left wing and pile onto the keeper at corners.
Utd weren't much better mind, just had a bit more quality to create that big chance. Defence and keeper stood firm but that was about it. |

Who could they get to replace him Mr S ? Just about every manager except Carlo in the last 15 years have been hounded out by the fans who seem to think we should play like Barcelona every week only without the players to do so
 You said earlier Moyes should give the youngsters a chance, who are you referring to ? Armstrong, Garner, Branthwaite and Tim I all started tonight, all 24 or under. Offhand i'd say there's something like 13/14 managers in the EPL currently who have not won a trophy with a top flight club here. |

how many have had the amount of years that moyes has had. and how many have had the chance to win something in vastly expanded european tournaments. dont forget a broken clock is right twice a day. its mothing more than the law of averages at play. how many leagues and cups has moyes had the opportunity to win over the years. must be 100s. its a bit like mr s says, you obviously love moyes and more power to you. i dont.

It should also be remembered that losing Grealish for the season was a blow and that Ndiaye has not been the same player since his Afcon absence . Two flair players who had been instrumental from an attacking point of view in the first half of the season. With the squad we have its very hard to replace them. Dibling hasn't looked the answer yet and young George is still settling in.
Given our travails of the last few seasons i'd say mid table consolidation is more than ok and look to try and sign more quality in the summer. The home form is poor ( they lost 12 games in the last 2 seasons at Goodison as well) but away has been very good. tobiasr - i notice you cannot name an alternative to Moyes either. Look at all the managers we have had in the recent past, none of whom could get the fans on their side. I really don't know what they expect given the limited squad we have. Tonight they matched a team who as YHTL's stat shows have been in excellent form. They were undone by (ironically) one counter attack. |

i've not tried. but actually dixie as youve mentioned him ancelotti managed quite well, despite the limitations you mention. as for who could do it now and potentially do it better, it depends on how you define better. it seems as though a lot of toffees - and i am not one - have had enough of the style of football. it shouldnt be hard to find someone with an easier style of play on the eye. the idea there isnt someone out there is ludicrous. in reality there are loads of managers that could do it and again it comes down to the numbers. there can only ever be twenty odd premier league managers and so unless you believe there are only twenty decent managers in the world then it follows there will be alternatives and good ones at that.
