First impressions are that Chelsea and Arsenal should not be favourites against Barca and Bayern, so that's the way I'll be betting initially.

It's not as if Barca and Bayern are playing each other next Sunday but Chelsea are Arsesnal do.

And it's not as if the UK teams can "cement" a player like Yamal without an English ref.

And it's not like the WWF freestyle grappling at set plays will be tolerated either.

8/1 the double Barca/Bayern looks irresistable.

Benfica & Ajax are 35th and 36th (of 36) in the table with 0pts from 4 games.

But supposedly one is much better than the other Confused

Look at the teams they've played and the scorelines.

Chelsea and Barca should be going for the win as they're not top 8. Arsenal can afford to lose, they might go all out, but they prob shouldn't as Chelsea have an extra day's rest and they should still get top 8 if they lose. Liverpool won the 1st phase last year and got PSG the next round they played. No prizes for finishing top (other than a few £m).

Ajax lost 5-1 at Chelsea and Benfica only lost 1-0 there, but Ajax were down to 10 men after 15 minutes and Chelsea had 2 deflections. Benfica away to Newcastle were the level of a team that would get relegated from the PL with about 23pts. They just look equally shyte to me.

Benfica we're OK at Newcastle until they had to open up
to chase the game.

Could easily have been 1-0

Better than wolves and forrest, maybe not as good as spurs or Fulham.

Benfica were unlucky not to take the lead at Newc. Ajax are woeful, sacked their manager after the last CL game but have lost both games since.

The price boost for Lamine Yamal (SOT), and over 0.5 1st 1/2 goal in Ajax vs Benfica is 1/1 for both.

This is a trappy set-up. Backed Benfica matchday4 and was very disappointed with their effort - almost an affront to their home fans.

Eight games, eight defeats between them - I'll side with Ajax because I think they will have a better chance of making the play-offs on a victory tonight. That said, I imagine all tonight's players are for sale ..

A draw is obviously no good to either side so may be some value in X-1 or X-2 and 0-0 HT (note 365 boost that).

I loathed his timewasting antics before the FA caught up with the practise.

But even if he had been with a club competing for the glittering prizes, he would still have been diving on the ball for England to waste 30 seconds. It's called Doing a Pickford.

Arsenal are entitled to be clear favs at home to Bayern.

If teams are of equal ability then 2.3 is what home advantage makes Arsenal. And there doesn't seem any reason to think they are not basically equals.

I had thought Barcelona were somewhat better than Chelsea though, but  I suppose some people factor in that Club World Cup.

Chelsea are a tricky team to predict. You expect them to go all guns blazing and they fail to produce anything, then just when you're expecting a mid-table team to frustrate them, they start scoring.

Yes.

I thought the new format was great last year but now I'm not sure. It's like playing the FA Cup 3rd round in a league format.

It’s incredible leif.  Is he in the process of a mental breakdown.  It just doesn’t make sense.  Other clubs rest their best players in advance of European games, Pep rests them in the games.  Is he going mad?

Home to Leeds on the weekend so you'd think he'd use that game to rest his star players and get the result done this evening.

Took around 1.72 for the BTTS in Arsenal Bayern - think both sides are strong attacking but have some questions in defence.

Can't see either defence being comfortable here.
