Chris Davies could hand debuts to a number of summer signings, including goalkeeper James Beadle, right-back Bright Osayi-Samuel and forward Kyogo Furahashi.With Eiran Cashin, Christoph Klarer and Phil Neumann all strong options at the back, Davies has a selection dilemma at the heart of his defence.
Tyler Roberts and Kanya Fujimoto are both expected to miss the opening game of the campaign with injuries.
IPSWICH
Conor Townsend and Jaden Philogene both picked up knocks during the final pre-season fixture and are doubtful for the trip to St. Andrew's on the opening weekend.
Left-back Leif Davis also missed that game with a knock, while Harry Clarke is facing an extended period on the sidelines with a knee injury.
These absences could pave the way for 40-year-old Ashley Young to make his debut at left-back.

The Blues stormed to the League One title last year in record-breaking fashion, locking down 111 points in the process. Chris Davies has enjoyed plenty of ambitious summer recruitment, but it remains to be seen how his possession-heavy style will translate to the higher division.
Ipswich were unable to secure Premier League survival at the first time of asking, but the Tractor Boys return to the second tier in an excellent position to bounce straight back. Despite losing key forward Liam Delap, Kieran McKenna's side still have plenty of threat, and the eye-catching signing of Dutch midfielder Azor Matusiwa is a statement to the rest of the league. |
