just watched a very nice game between the hosts Slovakia and Spain. Spain won 3-2 with a winner in added on time. Slovakia played really well and were a bit unlucky. Tonight's game on 4Seven (freeview) is Portugal vs France. If it's as good as the game I just watched, it'll be well worth seeing.

Portugal had 3 decent chances already, but can't find the net. They might rue those if France get a grip on the game.

England played well. Not perfect, but they were clearly the more accomplished and more experienced side, were able to move the ball around intelligently and became stronger as the 2nd half progressed. Eliiot was involved in most of England's successful forays. Nwaneri made an impact when he came on. Hutchison was lively and Livramento was very good particularly in the 1st half. Keeper looked solid, but there was a bit too much passing about in and around their own box.

Germany nowt special, France are poor. Spain and Portugal the only teams to impress me so far.

France vs Poland
France were poor against Georgia and were very lucky to get the win. Poland were absolutely hopeless against Portugal and were torn apart in their left back position, leaving the Portugese forwards the space to run riot. France will probabaly win comfortably but can't be trusted at 1.27. 2-0 would be my guess, but not one to bet on really. |

England vs Germany
Germany not as good as I'd been led to believe, but obviously dangerous. England were very good vs Czechs, but pretty poor against Slovenia. Play like they did against Czech Rep they have a decent chance of beating Germany. Play like they did against Slovenia and they're likely to lose. Both teams are likely to go through. Might want to avoid Spain, but Italy are actually pretty good. Draw looks big at 4's. n.b. Germany look to be fielding a weaker side as they are already guaranteed qualification. So, might factor that in. |
