If Jackson is seen as the kind of player Man U willing to shell out millions for, it's going to be another frustrating season for them. Didn't they learn anything from the Pogba debacle?

Sweden striker Alexander Isak, 25, wants £300,000 a week to sign a new contract at Newcastle. (Talksport)
anyone know how much he is on now? |
|
By:
quoted as £120,000 according to capology and sportrac which feels about right given his age and profile when signed.
|
|
By:
thats a big pay rise then - thanks brentford
|
|
By:
Apparently he is one of the best strikers in the world and he's playing for the richest club in the world, you'd think 300k is the least he should be asking for.
|
|
By:
Sadly the rich folk are not allowed to spend their cash lest the old order
is disturbed. He's worth every penny of 300k a week, but they'll all want it then the budget is spent Need to grow turnover, quickest way to do it is sell shirts or players, or both. Hey ho. |

It's actually a bit ridiculous how handcuffed Newcastle are by PSR but they seem to have a pretty good set up that will in time get them to where they want to be..
meanwhile Chelsea finding every loophole for short termism and City still....still waiting on the result of their charges for breaches.. |
|
By:
I think this is what the business with Ekitike was supposed to solve, Newcastle wanted him, Liverpool wanted Isak, Liverpool threatened to take Ekitike which was supposed to frighten Newcastle so Newcastle sold them Isak and appeased the fans by getting Ekitike in his place. However it all went wrong when Newcastle held out a bit too long so Liverpool ended up buying a player they don't really want and Newcastle end up with a wage headache.
|
|
By:
It's a shame Isak has only got 4 letters in his name...United coined it in when we bought Ibrahimovic
![]() |
|
By:
Newcastle could have afforded Ekitike without any sales though, Isak under contract till 2028..
Champions league football this year...this is the season to actually make a bit of a jump if they get it right on the field but it probably needs the squad depth to really give them the best chance. |
|

duffy - liverpool do not buy players they do not want

they obviously wanted izak but not meant to be as newcastle want to hold onto him

By:
Yeah, I'm sure there are things they can do.
They can grow the woman's team before selling it without affecting ffp. They can build a big stadium without affecting ffp, and when it's built sell naming rights and rake cash from increased capacity. My season ticket is 1080 this year from 720ish last year as deal ended. They are getting 280 off me for 4 champs league games Small potatoes but scaled up it's another decent step for them There's a reluctance to sell naming rights at the mo, but that won't exist at new stadium. Some clubs are spending 3 years ffp in one window, which is risky. Chelsea need to spend excess from woman's team sale and cwc winnings to lock it in for when players are resold down the line. Citeh didn't have all of these restrictions and when they were introduced just ignored them and paid via outside agencies... They got caught but can they be punished and or the value they achieved by cheating be removed Who nose? |

Liverpool going to regret not holding out a while longer with Etikite now that Isak is openly agitating for a move.

Nah. I think he is class. Isak going nowhere. Only Liverpool need a centre forward and have that money.
