It’s all getting a bit ridiculous with them.

Utd were supposedly quite interested in Quenda but wanted him to come in to the squad in the summer rather than as with Chelsea spend another season at Sporting..

not sure how good a move Chelsea is for a young talented player currently..it's certainly not worked out great for a few..(though in fairness for different reasons could say the same about Utd)

Don't think it's ever really that bad for a youngster there. You get loads of money on a seven year deal, get loaned out and play at a decent level. If you rip it up you can be a star there, if not you'll get a move to a club at the right level for your talent, but you'll still get your Chelsea contract paid up to make the move.

Probably terrible for lots of players long term to be earning huge sums at that age as it's sure to dampen the hunger but they're set for life at least.

Can’t fault any player for going there. They’re automatically set up for life once they put pen to paper.

It’s the authorisation of all these buys I’d be questioning. A squad of 89 seems excessive.

If you're being courted by top sides you're going to be set for life anyway wherever you go..

Recent contracts in terms of weekly wage haven't been that excessive for young players at Chelsea but you do get longer contracts..this is reportedly 7 years with option..

the danger is that if you don't breakthrough you can end up with a stagnating career with multiple loan spells but potentially with clubs that can't afford to take you permanently or just don't want to..

Although not initially related to Chelsea Joao Felix career has not got close to it's potential with so many moves, doesn't help young player development much beyond the very early years.

Absolute farce. Just scrap FFP and let clubs have a squad of 30 players aged 20 or over, and pay them what they like. They could have as many teenagers as they like too, but when they reach 20 years old they have to either put them in the squad or let them go on a free (and pay up their contract). Would put an end to this player hoarding.

Zubimendi has now verbally agreed to sign a long term deal… so formal steps must follow soon with Arsenal to trigger €60m clause.

Zubi, ready to become the first signing of the new season.

I'll get you some Kleenex!

Meanwhile maybe Arteta will sign another defender.

Even Callum Wilson at 33 would make Arsenal a better team! Lets see if they mean business with Gykores. I think Alvarez would be excellent and is proven imho. Lookman too.
Anyone would be good except Eddie Nketiah.
