Walker has a reputation based purely on pace. He is a poor defender and even worse on the ball.

England’s last 6 goals at Euro 2024: ◎ Bellingham v Slovakia: 0.05(xG) ◎ Kane v Slovakia: 0.22(xG) ◎ Saka v Switzerland: 0.03(xG) ◎ Kane v Netherlands: Penalty ◎ Watkins v Netherlands: 0.06(xG) ◎ Palmer v Spain: 0.03(xG) Relying on screamers, unsustainable. |

My take on England after a bottle of wine 1 how has Cole Palmer not started one single game. 2 the hype over Jude Bellingham is ridiculous. Plays like he's Roy Of Rovers 3 why is Southgate reactive rather than proactive? Every ****g time 4 how has a team this blessed with talent being muzzled throughout the tournament? 5 Southgate needs to do one as this side has the potential to be one of the best 6 Kane had has his day. Pace is required at top level. Imagine if Spain had a top striker? 7 Palmer, did I mention him, needs to have the side built around HIM couldn't have put it better myself |

I can't think of another player other than Kane playing for a major national team or any team for that matter that absolutely everyone agrees is ether injured, playing sh1te or both but where every single pundit agrees won't be dropped and won't criticize the manager for not having the balls to leave him out.
He has been undroppable with every half decent thing he has managed to come up with being used as a stick to beat his critics with, but those moments have been few and far between, ultimately he has been a millstone around the teams neck and that is down to Southgate for not having the bottle to put him out of his misery. |

lucky Utd didn't pay 150m for him...

Morata is similar to Kane, but he drops into midfield more than plays as a striker. Saka is England's best attacker imo but he has no FB support. Palmer is good but he comes on against tired opposition when England need a goal and he gets support.
|
|
By:
The Watkins and Palmer moments may have felt great at the time but they will be coming back to haunt Southgate very quickly because they will be held up as examples of what might have been.

lucky Utd didn't pay 150m for him...Mischief He was fine 12 months ago, he's injured now, we'd have been in CL now if we'd have forked it out. I get your point though and unlike what Kane is currently capable of, it was a beautifully timed strike.![]() |

![]() just messin' - and yep I think hr is a bit inhibited with his back but with Utd's current situ this has been quite a good blue print for what to expect...he's a fantastic finisher as proved this season but struggles to elevate teams especially at this time of career.. |
|
By:
He is a good example of one of those players that when he's on it looks so good but when he falls off it to any degree looks an absolute carthorse.

Since the 2002 UEFA Champions League final, Spanish teams and the Spanish national team have played in 23 major finals (Champions League, UEFA Cup, Europa League, World Cup, European Championship) against non-Spanish teams and won the trophy on all 23 occasions. Campeones.

Harry Kane had just one touch in the opposition box across the EURO 2020 and EURO 2024 finals against Italy and Spain

1. Criminal not to at least give Gordon a few mins (Even instead of Kane if not on the wing). He has been great at Newcastle and is developing into a serious player. England though the whole comp had no pace on the left to match Saka on the right. Look at Spain. Happy to give time to a 16 year old ffs and Englands best and fastest left winger doesnt get a minute. (Foden is not a winger and Eze/Bowen are decent midtable wingers (Big fishes in small ponds). Neither in Gordons class)
2. Playing Shaw. When he came on for the first time in the comp, he ran for 5mins and then calved. He genuinely look like some fat popstar running out at a charity match. |
|
By:
and yet didn't get done once in the first 45 and debatable he did after - kind of where your agenda always shines through a bit too much...

By:
Shaw was great first half. Won every duel v Yamal. Lost him for the first goal tho. Needs to lay off the custard.
|
|
By:
Lamal had him on toast all night. Another night Lamal would have had couple goals easy. He must have been chuckling wondering where England got the fat pub footballer from when he waltzed past him for the first goal. He even pulled out of the foul for the first goal

The pint throwers were pre tournament favourites after they got beat at home to Iceland. Just goes to show you how many people buy into the hype bowl that is england.
|
|
By:
Shaw doesn't lose anyone on the first goal..
he's left with a decision to make as Spain have a 2 on 1 on his side with no defensive MF cover inside ..tries to half and half it and Spain with their high quality take advantage... keep watching lads...you might occasionally notice something.. |
|
By:
Will Kane continue to play International football considering the World Cup is two years away?
|
|
By:
Correct Brentford, thought he did ok.
|
|
By:
I must admit I follow football not so much England, believe it or not. But, will always support them when they play, regardless.
However, I did notice Shaw was a bit podgy for a footballer; I put that down to not having played for a long while. If so, why did Mr Southgate play him? Is Shaw a vital cog in the England team, or Mr Southgate specific? |
|
By:
Keep watching lads? If he stays goal side of Yamal the goal doesn't happen. There was no need for him to step up, the ball was with Carvajal who is not a dangerous player going forward. Bellingham and Rice were in position to get back if he stays goal side of Yamal, which he did very well the entire first half.
If he has no midfield cover inside from Rice then all the more reason to stay goal side until Rice gets back into position. |

jude banging on about been shattered but not only did he play,he played out of position on the left, any of gordon, cole, bowen could have filled thaty role if they were fitter than jude, on his form jude shouldnt have been a shoo in even if 100% fit
|

By:
Jude won the trophy for falling to the ground most times when losing the ball

you lot are so optimistic, you'll never win anything again, two euros the easiest route to the final and even hosted the dam thing and STILL won nothing, when it went 1-1 Southgate went 11 behind the ball instead of attacking them
clown. |
|
By:
Kane needs someone up with him to run the channels and make space. He had
Son at Spurs, Sterling for England and Sane at BM. Bowen would have done that job. You don't become a bad player overnight and I'm sure the next England manager will play a team/system that actually creates chances for him. But like Xaar has said, England are very unlikely to get such a favourable setup as they did for the last few Tournaments. |
|
By:
Shaw had a good game.
Players work on getting defenders isolated, there was time first half Williams came over to help yamal, Bellingham helped out, covering outside when Shaw went inside. Semi final showed there was a hole on our right flank which Gakpo exposed, Spain worked it well. We don't learn, surely if Southgate stays he needs way better help with coaching, tactics, and in game analysis. He may be a great man manager, but that's about it. |
|
By:
I thought sakas starting position was awful
most of the game. Cucarella just pulled 5-10 yards off him so was always open to relieve pressure, break our press. He even had time to mis control and still move it on. When he's working alongside a player as good as williams then it's extra important to plug the supply and we failed miserably, and it cost us. |

hope england never lose 5 goals in a game, dont think i could stand watching 6 times a billion £ set up,pass it back to keeper from centre spot and pickford launch it twickenham style 80 yds down the pitch, 6 times ,3 times last night was embarrassing enough, surely someone amongst this golden generation must chirp up in training saying we,re better than this boss, if nothing else have a 50 yd shot in to their keepers hands ,instead of our keepers feet
|

By:
Always thought we had a good attacking performance in the locker waiting
to come out, wishful thinking. Still believe these players we've got have been shackled under this bloke. In truth we were the most boring team in it. |
