Doubt he will but think Watkins deserves a crack at starting.
Much more mobile than Kane.2 halves chalk & cheese. |
By:
france could have beat spain with better finishing.....the spaniards are classy but also beatable.....not with the crab football of course...
By:
imagine how good watkins would be if he cut holes in the back of his socks ...
By:
We are better balanced with Shaw, without doubt
But his starting position is less advanced than trippier which gave them more space to play through. Trippier had a slow start, but did his job well enough tonite, which gave us more space. |

No reason why we should fear the Spanish.
Let them worry about our players. |

Safegate has been lucky, but who cares? - just win baby!!!
By:
just don't be too passive..
played with some more tempo, positivity and better movement tonight than any game so far..got a bit tense second half and Dutch adjusted to make it harder to play through but genuinely deserved the win tonight.. The Italy final was horrific after the first 10 mins and spent most of the game trying to cling on to the 1-0 and then the draw.. |

It was never a penalty.
By:
STUDS STRAIGHT RED IMO
By:
rules are it was a pen ...they looked at var and it confirmed it !
By:
It's a penalty, and if it happens again in final can expect another one
whichever way it goes. Quite why defender is allowed free shot at attacker just because he has already fired a shot off is baffling. Dive in at full back clearing ball in corner is a foul and a yellow. |
By:
Not enough force to be a red, casemoney.
By:
The fact is there are dozens of incidents in penalty areas every game for which a penalty can be given by VAR.
If the big clubs are going to get favourable decisions then the days of making money by laying heavy favourites may be over. |
By:
Quite why defender is allowed free shot at attacker
Kane booted the defender's foot. In looking at any incident it's important to remember the basics of physics and mechanics. |
By:
AI next. No appeal. AI is being applied in the NHS eg reading/determining x-rays in CT and MRI scans for a more immediate and accurate diagnosis; the time issue could be vital for the patient.
In comparison football is only a game - swings and roundabouts; you win some, you lose some. |
By:
In Ireland cervical scans were sub-contracted to a USA company for automatic/computer scanning.
And lots of problems were missed. |
By:
It was a coming together, not a pen. Defender didn't impede Kane taking his shot, didn't go for the ball but went to block it instead. If he'd gone for the ball and caught Kane before he kicked it then pen.
Kane kicked his foot and all the force and most of the movement came from Kane. If the defender was smart he would have gone down like Kane did, feigning injury. Kane got up 2 mins later and took the pen with the same foot. He is well known for going down like this. But even more strange than the pen decision itself was the VAR decision to get involved. There was no clear and obvious error. |

By:
It's only as good as the individuals responsible for inputting info and data. Nevertheless, an expert assessment is an absolutely must esp the inconclusive ones.
By:
Two issues here.
1) The defender if knowing/sensing the ball had left Kane's foot ought not to have put his foot in the direction of Kane's foot post the ball leaving Kane's foot, instead acknowledging the trajectory of Kane's action esp Kane's foot. 2) The defender's action was late - too late. And, a contact was made; the defender left had deliberately left his foot in the trajectory of Kane's foot intending to probably intimate or obstruct Kane's action. But, his action is too late. |

lurka very well said

Kane's foot was obviously hurt, he hit the ball at full force, someone elses foot his his at the same time, you're going to feel pain, it's pain not broken bones or swelling, so a couple of minutes is about right to be feeling good again.
