Kicks off today with the clash between  Ivory Coast v Guinea Bissua after a 6 month delay because of weather fears in the Ivory Coast. (sound familiar)

Early Tournament Favs are Morocco, Senegal, Ivory Coast & Algeria

Dark Horses are Tunisia & Ghana

Previously this has been a cash cow for under 2.5 goals & and 0-0 traders plus spread betting card buyers, however, most have now caught on and prices reflect the trends.

Is anyone going to bother with this one or is it just a waste of time?

Pele stated an African Nation would win the World Cup before 2000, however, they have regressed since that comment was made and can't see that happening before 2100.

For me, I will do 0-0 in every game but not watch as it's mostly dire stuff.

Good luck to all who tolerate it and put themself through hours of torture in order to get the odd good game.

I will have the odd dabble on o3.5 goals in some matches. They’re usually a decent price at this tournament. Won’t be interested in watching many games though.

As for Peles comment it might have happened had they not had their best talent stolen by Europe

Probably not...............

It's always the same with this crappy little competition. Tons of 0-0 FT games. I won't be watching any of it.

I have watched 4 or 5 games from this over the years, and have yet to see a goal that wasn't a penalty.

how many clubs will spend £millions on players who show up well in the first few weeks of this tournament?

This has recently been a bad guide for assessing potential, too many bang-average players making average players look good.

Opening games are usually drab affairs and at over evens, U2.5 appears ok, along with the customary 0-0 @ 16.

The great Pele said that an African team would win the World Cup before the turn of the Century.

He must have meant the end of the 21st Century.

Will make for grim watching as usual ,and about 80% of teams will still be in after the groups which leads to even more negative play .Top 2 and 4 best third places I think go through.

I think they should scrap the Nations League, and the Euros and make World Cups once every 6 or 8 years. Internationals aren't special any more, haven't been for a long time.
