Kicks off today with the clash between Ivory Coast v Guinea Bissua after a 6 month delay because of weather fears in the Ivory Coast. (sound familiar)
Early Tournament Favs are Morocco, Senegal, Ivory Coast & Algeria
Dark Horses are Tunisia & Ghana
Previously this has been a cash cow for under 2.5 goals & and 0-0 traders plus spread betting card buyers, however, most have now caught on and prices reflect the trends.
Is anyone going to bother with this one or is it just a waste of time?
Pele stated an African Nation would win the World Cup before 2000, however, they have regressed since that comment was made and can't see that happening before 2100.
For me, I will do 0-0 in every game but not watch as it's mostly dire stuff.
Good luck to all who tolerate it and put themself through hours of torture in order to get the odd good game.

Haven't had a goalless draw all tournament then two come along at once!

Always surprise me how well they've done recently (as in rankings and WC qualifications) as on paper they are very average.

It's the only tournament I know of where the prize of being knocked out and returning to the comfort of your European mansion is better than the actual prize of a month in the hot sun playing for a 0-0 draw.
the KO stages should be more to script. lots of 0-0s, unders with cards issued like confetti
about 3 or 4 world cups ago my pal said that an african nation will soon win the world cup, when i watch the african nations play they are so poor i doubt anyone one of them would even qualify for a work cup if they had to qualify from the european groups.

been a much better tournament than anticipated, which has done away with the normal profits.
One outstanding thing is the quality of the referees in this tournament, got almost everything right and did it in a timely fashion.
However the Africans have become the masters of play-acting, never seen so many near deaths on a football pitch followed by remarkable recoveries.
One great thing about this tournament has always been how competitive it always is. 7 different winners of the last 7 tournaments.
Entertaining but also the Asian Cup as well, both have been well run and mostly good competitive games

I saw the photo of the Ivory Coast with the trophy. Couldn't help noticing something missing though.
