By:
wait til 2028 and you wont even have to leave the country.
By:
Should be a good one though
Germany will be a great atmosphere for supporters We might pull off a good one in 2028 what with the whole of the UK and Ireland being involved |
By:
rather go to Germany to watch it England is bobbins
booked air bb in Hamburg for a week shd be great hope i get the tickets god knows who we get to watch one of chance in a lifetime but will be costly hey long time dead |

It's a total rip off.
I've went for category 3 tickets for a few games in the second round as I'm not paying more than that for a match where I don't know who is playing. There are going to be some games that they will be struggling to give tickets away with there being 24 teams in it this time though. Imagine Albania vs Hungary etc in a 70k stadium with tickets at 200 euros a pop. Given that 4 out of the 6 3rd placed teams will go in to second round they're also likely to be quite a few teams playing for a point in their second game if they won the first knowing that 4 points will be enough to qualify for the next round. |

My dad said Euro 96 was rubbish dragon, stadiums half empty and little interest at all
The games were rubbish on rewatches through the years as well Wait until thhey up it to 32 teams shrewd ![]() |
By:
Hamburg is a great place as well
![]() |
By:
luck of the draw i suppose
and im sure we will all enjoy Hamburg be great to be with my boys at a major football festival abroad |
By:
Hopefully you'll have a great time.
It's just frustrating that they take the piss with these things. Ever higher prices for a diluted product. 48 teams in 2026 world cup so that's going to have a lot of dross games as well. 8 3rd placed teams will go through to the knock outs. Still if I get tickets I won't be complaining at these prcies when watching Scotland in the second round. |

My dad said Euro 96 was rubbish dragon, stadiums half empty and little interest at all
The knockout rounds were dire, 0-0, 0-0 ![]() France v Czechs, semi final at Old Trafford, on a Tuesday afteroon, was about 1/3 full, a dreadful 0-0 |

There's a reason for that, Hooliganism.
England still had a MASSIVE reputation for hooliganism in the mid 90's, it's simmered down to almost being put out now in 2023, fans were put off in 96. |
By:
It's odd because we are football mad and 96-2006 was peak football in this country
We only seem interested in England and that's it Hopefully with it being UK wide with Ireland thrown init'll be a good competitive atmosphere |
By:
I remember the England games being quite dull apart from the 4-1 thrashing of Holland.
Scotland, Swiss, Spain games, all dull, but the 3 Lions on a shirt anthem and advancement of the team plus being in England, gave off the impression on reflection it was a wonderful time, but the games were forgettable really. |

By:
Throw in Gazza needing another inch on his stud and it was almost a final
By:
I too think it's a bit lame having the tournament in the UK in 2028, who really wants to go to Sunderland, Tottenham (which is a bleak area even if the stadium is good) and Liverpool, you wanna go to your travels to the continent for the experience. Do they still hang their washing out on lines crossing the street up north?

By:
Rafa Nadal's uncle missed a pen for Spain against England, fun fact
![]() |
By:
I did enjoy Qatar to be fair
I think having it in places like that is good for the competitive nature |
By:
Who qualifies as host by the way, England, Scotland, Wales and both Irelands?
By:
Only two spots allowed so it's up to the host nations to decide
Id personally give NI and Ireland the automatic spots |
By:
The FA are apparently keen to remain competitive and go through qualifying
By:
England's qualifying groups are never competitive, they might as well take the free berth if they can.
By:
im on d1 and d2 in hamburg on sunday 16 june
god knows who that might be but hopefully it will be a good draw |
By:
Fun fact
Keegan tried to sign rafas uncle at Newcastle. Saw euro 96 at Newcastle and world cup 98 in bordeaux You are 100% correct dragon, overseas is way to see it. |

was advised yesterday that my application was unsuccessful
![]() i will just have to hope i can get tickets nearer the time as apartment and flights are booked |
By:
Belgium vs Azerbaijan: 4 - 0. The Chelsea reject Lukaku scored all four against 10-men Azerbaijan.
By:
Spain vs Georgia. Could this be another France vs Gibraltar? I think 14-0 is highly unlikely, 7-0 is highly probable.
By:
I remember the England games being quite dull apart from the 4-1 thrashing of Holland.
lol yep, gazza and the missed Scotland pen @ 1-0 never happened |

Was in Berlin and Dortmund for the 2006 World Cup - was one of the best trips of my life. Managed to see two games, (which were not great) but the atmosphere around the place and meeting football fans from around the world was amazing. Loved it. Agree with others - experiencing the tournament in another country is the way to go. Germany a great country to visit besides football too. My mate and I will be going for 4-5 days for this tourney too. Promised my son we will be in the US for the 2026 world cup as they will put on a show too for sure.

Keep an eye on your emails for this week then. Supposedly they are going to try and sell the tickets people didn't pay in the lottery before the draw on 2nd December. Will be first come first served.
By:

By:
Yeah hopefully you do. Will still be a good time going to the fanzones on game days as well.
By:
indeed. a lot depends on the draw. if England get drawn in hamburg then i stand no chance.
we are there for seven days so we can always get the train to other cities were we can get tickets. surely all first round matches wont be sell outs |
By:
