I remember him bullying Roy Keane on the pitch.
only just realised there's a few teammates going up against each other on Sunday Lloris v Romero Mbappe v Messi Varane v Martinez Greizmann v Molina Greizmann v De Paul Rabiot v De Maria Rabiot v Paredes |

If France keep Messi quiet, they will win.
The Argies need Messi to fire unlike France who have much more to offer than just Mbappe. |

Anyone know why the odds for 'Team to Kick-off' are Argentina 2.75 France 1.44? Isn't this just random & should be close to evens each of 2 or do the relevant teams have a particular preference - must admit I've not been looking for previous matches?
|
|
By:
Argies lost to Suadia Arabia ffs
French win all day long |
|
By:
Bit of a one-off game/result surely Dragon - they've looked very good in all the other games.

Some teams like to choose ends, others to kick off second half.
Winner of toss gets to choose. Take care. |

Yes I suppose prices are as they are for a reason. Not thinking of having a bet just curious.

racingqueen..........your comments re messi are a joke.........the barcelona team he played in was one of the best teams ever mainly because of him........he scored 50-60 goals a season
the 2010 argentina team that reached the WC final - which you say had real quality - had messi and macherano.....the rest were rank average players........rojo wouldnt have gotten on germanys 4th team. higuain has been terrible for argentina. lavezzi, bigli and perez would not get any where near a top 5 european team......... you say maradonna dragged argentina to a world cup final in 1990........maradonna was mediocre in that world cup. it was a total fluke that they got to the final. it was probably the most cynical international team in history. they played 7 teams in that world cup. AND WON 2 MATCHES..........they finished 3rd in their group, they won the qaurters and semis on penalties. it was a total fluke that they got there........you say maradonna draged them there. how many goals did he score in the tournamnet?..........one?..........he was bang average. he bitched after the tournament claiming they were robbed. it was the worst WC in history.......... maradonna deserves all the praise in the world for 1986.........his performances in the quarters and semis were incredible. but argentina scored 13 goals in the tournament. he scored 5. he didnt score in the final, which they won 3-2.....and he didnt play that well........so it wasnt a total one man team, otherwise they would not have won the final after sundays final messi will have played in 26 world cup matches - which is a record - he has played in approx 850 club games. judging players career on 26 games as apposed to 850 is insane. international football is fixed by geography. lewondowski has no chance whatsoever of ever having a good international career, despite being one of the greatest strikers ever. people just assume that because argentina are a major nation and have won the world cup before that messi not winning the WC is massive failure. but it isnt when you analyse the squad of players he has had to deal with since 2010 - he was only a sub in 2006, so forget that one.........argentina have had a catelog of fab wingers and strikers in that time.........but they have been terrible for argentina.........higuain and aguero, useless. de mari ok.......the rest of the team have been bang average......mascherano aside, none of their central midfielders would get near a decent spanish/english/italian/germany team.........maradonna was given the job in 2010 but let Cambiasso and Zanetto out of the world cup squad..........HE DID NOT HAVE A CLUE this argentina have half decent midfielders and average defenders but they have julian alvarez and messi.......its a mediocre world cup and maybe teh best player in the tournament so far - messi - can get them over the line. |

What is this I see about rumours France have some illness in their camp - surely not too bad (or odds would have moved), but still not great?

"the 2010 argentina team that reached the WC final"........which i typed in the 2nd line should read............2014 aregentina team

Argentina scored probably the best team goal in World Cup history in 2006 , that was a great team effort, Spain saw it and thought eh oh hey up and took the game to the bore room for about 8 years
This Argentina team isn’t even as good as that 2006 side, I don’t think any team is nowadays All 433 possession based |

1930 FIFA World Cup Final
Because of a dispute, a different ball was used in each half, one chosen by each team. Argentina's ball was used for the first half and Uruguay's ball was used for the second half. Lol |
|
By:
maradonna did not score any goal in 1990 world cup
|
|
By:
1990 is remebered fondly in England (and Ireland). But it was a terrible World Cup full of persistent cynical fouling and time wasting. In fairness to Maradona he was hacked to pieces after what he did in 1986 and had about 3 men around him most of the time. The final one of the worst ever. 1-0 from a penalty. They brought in the backpass rule in 1992 as a result.

By:
Szymon Marciniak will ref the final, Taylor was essentially ruled out once Argentina were in.

france should be favs in my book

Whilst haaland is a monster, I think the argie lad for City, will be included in the argument as one of the worlds best players by the end of 2023. The lad has a far greater room for development in my view, he has been the unsung hero of the world cup. He has helped Messi more then many given him credit for with his electric movement
|
|
By:
Yep, he's a clever player... Has he been watching Haaland
or did he always have that awareness. Amazing how many strikers are too lazy to make the runs, then find some space. |
|
By:
We all know what will happen. Messi will get the ball just outside the box, he'll go past one or two French defenders like they weren't there then effortlessly riffle in a shot to the bottom right corner.
We've all seen it time and time again (so have the French defenders) |

France to win by penalties.

10/1. ^

Expectation on Messi or Mbappe to score, will go for a match Draw in 90' , favour unders,.Leaning towards an Argentina win in Aet. Gl to all. What could possibly go wrong.

I was told in the sauna at my gym that Alvarez was bought as the replacement for Aguero. Can’t remember what he said about why they bought Haaland, maybe just opportunity. I still think Haaland is THE Beast but am intrigued as to how this Alvarez develops. Lauturo and Dybala on the bench, somebody knows something! |
|
By:
Why are Argentina favs? Levels between these two teams imo, France comfortably clear.
|
|
By:
Messi love in.
Strong possibility of an Argie pen plus it's a better story for FIFA to have a new winner plus a WC for Messi. |

BBC or ITV ??

Have any key players for France been ruled out through illness?

Argentina team looks terrible
|
|
By:
It is, Messi has been carrying them.
|
|
By:
France fit again, play same team that beat us
Di Maria comes back in to Argentina team. Two well matched teams. |
|
By:
I look at the 2 teams on paper and just think France are well clear.
|
|
By:
Come on le bleus
Argentines want Argentina to win but listening to the media they only support Messi it’s ridiculous ffs |
|
By:
France +1 as I think 0-0 1-1 is the probable result here
|
|
By:
Players cannot get onto pitch to warm up..
get a feel of things because of a music festival Lol |
|
By:
Think France will have too much pace and agility for the Argies who will try to stifle and then rely on the little master to conjure up something memorable. France 2-0 for me. Think the hosts have put on a good World Cup with no violence and hooligans spoiling the show for others. Take note western nations.

What is this shyte

Aye good hosts
Saudi Arabia would be a decent host as well. They make sure their show isn’t ruined do the Arabs I give them that |
