It's new Goat v Old Goat in Mbappe and Messi, PSG teammates

It's time for Messi to get what he deserves,  written in the stars etc.

Been a good surprising good World Cup with underdog stories, though not that many memorable matches, but many watchable.

Highlight being Infantino's I'm an Arab, gay, space astronaut speech, that'll live in infamy

Make your call now, no after-timing. 1-2 Argies.

Kind Regards.

Both around evens on here but there can only be one winner. I'll go France in extra time .

I should state, I don't think Mbappe is the best player in the world, but that is the general perception, I'd rather a Haaland in my team, but as long as the final lives up to expectation, piling in on cards for the Argentina side, they do struggle to hold their emotions.

I hope whoever referees gets to grips with Messi's left arm.  Every time he is in close quarters with anybody he cheats with it. Gets way with it because he is Messi and the other guy's bigger so should be able to deal with it.
4-3 when they last met in a World Cup finals - how good would that be come Sunday?!
I saw something new tonight.  Griezmann actually made a mistake.

Morocco played well tonight, just their final ball lacking.
Argentina won't in that department.
Argentina for me in what looks a good game in prospect.

before the semis i was thinking france will be world champions. i backed them at the start but for once im hoping i will lose my money cause i want argentina to win. never have i wanted a result in any sporting event like wanting to see messi win the world cup. after seeing the semis im convinced argentina will win. they will fight like dogs to win this. i have been dissapointed in the french. no way did they deserve to win 2-0 v morocco. the latter could easily have scored a couple of goals. both defences look dodgy to me but i prefer argentina's midfield. they will run all day, can retain a lot of posession and only need messi do do some magic to score a few goals. mbappe is messi's equal at the moment so he could easily be the difference also. but im expecting argentina's desire to win to get them a victory........possibly 2-1 with messi and co scoring two first half goals and defending like warriors for the last half hour.
i have been watching the videos on youtube of the argentinian fans in their homeland celebrating the goals and their victories. its incredible. the crowds in the capital have been biblical........victory for argentina would be one of the greatest sporting events in our lifetime.........i know many of you englishman are not exactly in love with argentina because of the hand of god and the falklands - all though to be fair i dont detect any major opposition on here or in the british media....in fact the BBC and ITV would love to see argentina win.......i think its written in the stars. this is what the world cup is about guys....its the only sporting event where nations celebrate like this. its brings out the good in everyone. i just wish FIFA would not be messing with the format by extending it beyond 32 teams.

France v Argentina.  Like choosing between gonorrhea and herpes.  I'll opt for France as it's Messi's last chance.  Both sides have been beaten in this tournament so they'll be a weak champion, whomever wins.

To be fair as an Englishman your not fussed who wins, probably give it no attention

Bit its Messi isnt it so theres going to be lots of eyes on this one, its Pope Francis birthday on Saturday as well

Argentina is a very biblical country as well etc etc

I want France to win as I cant stand Messi noshing, nothing against the fellow but its the media, the so called football fans who worship him and im not talking about just the Argentines theres english football fans who are seeing clickbait central and money to be made from this

My prediction lost along with my bets and Argentina winning it would barely make me my money back so id sooner see who all the worshippers get done over

2-1 or 3-1 to Argies.

I think France have sat back when they go ahead in games for years.I hate teams to do this when I have backed them as it plays into the opponents hands.

Morroco are a team built on solid defence, not attacking power (though nicking some when needed). But they made France squirm.

It feels like the French have been winging it the whole tournament, they conceded in every game bar the last one in which they were lucky to do so, can't go on like that forever, the Argie's have kept 3 clean sheets and look more reliable defensively, feels like an Argie win, has hallmarks of Spain's run at the 2010 World Cup, lost the first game to a team they were really not expected to lose to, went on to win the tournament. Messi hasn't just picked up great form, he's been playing well for PSG all season and looked almost backed to his best from a few years ago. I don't want them to win, especially if those mugs are banging on about the Falkland Islands when it was there own deranged government that cost their own citizens/military their lives, and ours, but logic dictates France's luck will run out. Messi to get both goals.

As someone who backed France pre tournament I'd be very confident of collecting.  They've only done what they needed to do most games and no more. Like a racehorse who you feel only does just enough to win but there's more in the tank.

Against a team who had not been behind until last night and were thus more attacking than in prev games and pretty good at it. Hakimi who everyone thought was going to mark Mbappe was playing like a right winger and overloading Hernadez with Ziyech all night.

Morocco 61% possession last night. They had 41% against Canada, 35% against Croatia, 23% against Spain, 27% against Portugal. They prob had a similar defensive counter-attacking game plan last night with Hakimi marking Mbappe but it went out the window once France scored and Hakimi pushed on. They threw caution to the wind and left themselves wide open. They didn't create many clear chances but that had a lot to do with good defending by France.

Belgium was the other game, which they won 2-0 with 33%. The early goal last night made for a much different but better game. France have a tendency to take the foot off the gas when ahead but should have been 2-0 up a lot earlier last night as Morocco were wide open. Doubt it will be as open at either end if France go 1-0 up in the final.

i really dislike the argies but on what both sides have shown so far  they look much better defensively and going forward than  france.its a one off game so   anything could happen but if france aren't better than they've shown  the horrible argies will sort them out.

Laugh   WTF has the Falkland Islands got to do with anything?
It is just ludicrous to mention them as a relevant feature of this final and says it all about the English mindset.
Absolutely pathetic.

For me it has feck all to do with some idiotic war from a time before i was born

Its the Messi b0llocks but to be fair theres not been much made about it so far

The media here seem less bothered about it,, its more the pundits before the game on Sunday that will nosh him off, and if he wins we can just switch it off anyway

I think our media seem more interested in other things

Its the Messi b0llocks

The sooner him and Ronaldo retire the better. You'd swear they were one man teams the way people go on. In 86 Maradona came as close as possible to a single player winning the WC on his own. the 90 team was awful as well and he dragged them to a final.

Ronaldo and Messi have played for some of the most expensive and best teams ever assembled. The Barca team Messi played in was probably the best club team I have ever seen and pretty much won a WC for Spain without him. This Argentina team has some real quality as did the 2014 side and Portugal have had good quality since 2000

Neither would give your average fan on the street the time of day unless there was some PR involved and have been convicted of massive tax evasion.

2 absolute c**ts imho

Best Decision Messi ever made was not giving interviews in English. By not talking the British media deify him.

Football is dying cos of money. Saw an interview with Vinny Jones the other day about Wimbledon and you could see the passion he had was genuine. Class act who would sit down with a fan for a pint.

Always like Vinnie Jones RQ - I saw him play when he was at Leeds a few times, always having a laugh with the fans during warm up and even in the game - decent geezer, and actually half decent player at Leeds, more skill than many remember.
