Got to admit, I much prefer this to an all-English final.

If you count serious chances and near misses in this tie...

Real had about 6, and scored 6.

City had about 14, and scored 5.

Yeah, wouldn't be lumping on, that's for sure. Got a weird feeling Pool are destined for the Quad mind you.

Madrid brought on Camavinga and Rodrygo

Tonight both on 78 mins and Rodrygo scored 2
Against Chelsea on 73 and 78mins and Rodrygo scored 2 mins later
Against PSG both on 57 mins and scored 4 mins later and 3 in 20 mins

All second legs at home too

Aye I think Pool are gonna do it

We need City to well and truly go over the deep edge in the league now though Laugh

Madrid are a harder fixture than City for Liverpool.  Fancied Liverpool to beat Man City but do not have the same confidence against this Real team.

Real were largely outplayed for long periods against PSG, Chelsea and City and were behind in all 3 second legs. Liverpool can beat them well but wouldn't want to be switching off like last night. Real won't have home advantage either. When Camavinga comes on there is a noticeable change in tempo from Real. If Liverpool take their chances they can win by 2 or more.

hilarious to see Pep and his mercenaries fail yet again in the CL.  ExcitedExcited Is it fair to say yet that he's been a failure at Man City as he was brought there to win this competition.

Yep, he looks a very bad fit at Man City and they don't suit his style of play at all. They should've just paid levy's asking price for Harold of the Kanes.

that 2nd- the rodrygo header has to be the luckiest,it glanced off a players head,if it went to him clean i bet he'd have missed it

They will just have to go out and spend a few more hundreds of millions.

Consider the following. Of Guardiola’s 11 eliminations from the Champions League, going back to the first in 2009-10, a huge eight have seen periods that have involved flurries of goals conceded or astounding collapses.

2009-10 Internazionale semi-final 2 goals in 13 minutes
2014 Bayern Munich semi-final 3 goals in 18
2015 Barcelona semi-final 3 in 17
2017 Monaco last 16 2 in 8
2018 Liverpool quarter-final 3 in 19
2019 Tottenham Hotspur quarter-final 2 in 3
2020 Lyon quarter-final 2 in 8
2022 Real Madrid semi-final 3 in 6

for me city blew that game in the first leg, should have been a non event last night, asked the question yday who would lpool prefer and now im fairly sure it would be city for exactly the reason seen over these two legs, they did almost the same against spurs 3 years ago when they should have killed it and got picked off and against chelsea last season they were mugged over when it was easier to win

be amazed if they don't break every transfer record this summer with haaland and a couple of others especially with all of the contracts in their final year that they have, reckon at least 6 will leave between now and jan 2023

elise-agree about the 1st leg, should have had at least a 2 clear goals lead coming into that leg last night, disagree about wanting to face city tho, just an opinion -respect yours(fwiw-itd be much more like a domestic lge game or cup tie, think pep blew it,city the better team by far over the 2 legs)

at least we have one uk team in the final, should be a good game and i suppose bar everton and utd fans most will want them to win, can imagine utd fans would have been bollx'd if city had got there and they'd had the choice of awful and fcking awful results

So lets have no more talk of City the great, judged wholly on their ability to bully many teams in the prem. A great side would have dug in last night and found a way to hold on but the truth was that when City were dragged into the deep water they floundered and did not know what to do.

It was Drago when he got punched in the face it was Munich 99 all over again where all Madrid needed to do was stick it in the mixer and a goal was likely to come.

And so we go back to Pep the failure and yes, we can tar him with that most uncomfortable of brushes once again where his greatest achievements were gotten when the only input needed from him was for him to instruct his three worldies to go out and play.

Probably the most heart-breaking result (for their fans) in City's 14 year history. Pep's never going to win the CL again, is he?

Can throw what they like. He has a clause which a good few teams can meet. With his father playing there, city would still be favourites to sign him though.
