lineker is as lame as fff

By:
Jeff Stelling was amusing 15 years ago, now he's boring and repetitive and a parody of himself
Same as Virgo with the snooker, amusing years ago but even his "where's the cue ball going" became over done and even he sounded bored by it But by sacking them and hiring diverse it shows they are coming for your jobs and wealth, and by sacking these 3 it shows there's no fooks given |

So they should be allowed to continue to become less and less effective in their paid employment with no consequences

Let's be honest, Thompson was 66 and is probably relived at retirement, he had a great 22 year run, he earned far more money that all the other players of his generation thanks to a post career at Sky, they were on buttons back in his day, same as Charlie Nicolas, I think he's been there just as long, from the beginning maybe? You need to freshen things up from time to time, it's possible they've seen their ratings slump because of competition from BT who have a similar show, and are now reacting.

By:
I don't think in isolation any of the names being cancelled are as you point out darren...probably past their sell by date.
The issue of compliance to an agenda of who replaces them is a different kettle of fish though. |

Not to please a minority because they don't care trust me
This is distraction and a way of antagonising the populace, they want divide By sticking a load of BAME people in it winds up the white man |

We don't even know who are the replacements yet, could be a rotational thing even rather than the same 4 faces every week.
Regardless, morals, diversity, ethics, all this goes out of the window when it comes to huge corporations like Sky, they only really understand their pocket, if their ratings drop big time, they will change again. |

Ian Wright has launched into an impassioned speech about the negative reaction towards black pundits such as Alex Scott and Micah Richards potentially being given a job on Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday show.
Sky announced on Wednesday that Matt Le Tissier, Charlie Nicholas and Phil Thompson would be replaced ahead of the coming season. And the likes of Scott and Richards were immediately named as two of the strong favourites to take on the position. The news has received a mixed reaction on social media, and a visibly emotional Wright posted a video on Twitter from his car expressing his anger. "I've had to pull the car over. The racism is going through the roof today," he said. "Somebody answer me this: what does Micah Richards, Alex Scott, Sol Campbell, Clinton Morrison or any other black pundit have to do with Sky's decision to get rid of these guys, all because three middle aged white guys have got the sack?. "What have these guys done? Because a black person or woman might get the opportunity to do this job? Why are people upset? "Alex Scott, for me, is easily one of the best prepared pundits out there. Easily. "Micah Richards is the most exciting pundit we've seen in years. "Keep their names out of your stinking, unbrushed teeth mouths. Matt Le Tissier, Charlie Nicholas, Phil Thompson, they've had an unbelievable run, it's been a great show. This happens to everyone in the industry. "This is Sky's decision to evolve the show. And I wish them all the very best. Yes, you can be disappointed that it's come to an end for those guys, they've done brilliantly. |
|
By:
re Richards, the issue is though, it can be awkward when he's sitting in the same room as an ex player with the likes of Souness and keane who had much much bigger careers, then again I'd say the same about Jamie Redknapp who won nothing of note. I saw Joe Hart as a pundit in the BT studios, very wooden.

lets be honest about it they have been sacked because they are male and white ...end of.Sky with their BLM obsession together with this

ian wright has a massive chip on his shoulder ,previously said when sterling was regularly missing chances for England ,that if anyone criticised him they were racist ,you cannot take anything he says seriously after making such a satement.
|
|
By:
I doubt he said that, sounds like that's taken quotes out of context.
|
|
By:
13 august 2018 bbc sport ,when sterling was going through a bad period especially for England Wright said any criticism of him was "tinged with racism"and it "had to be racist ".Fast forward 2 years ,he has improved greatly as a player ,and his chance /goal ratio has gone way up ,you rarely hear criticism of him ,so maybe it wasnt racist after all ?
|
|
By:
this came off of the back of the 2018 world cup
"When you look at the wave of criticism that he takes, there is a certain amount of racism towards it - what else can it be? "They are picking on him because of the the background he has come from and they want to keep him down, drag him back down. They don't want him to continue to be a success. "the high end of the media want to keep that guy down" So he did not say any or all criticism of Sterling was racist but a certain amount, that's a big difference. I think if you read between the lines, he is blaming Sterling's portrayal in the media for the way in which he's perceived by the public, and that's relayed at grounds, that is an element of truth in that, remember when Sterling compared the media headline of Phil Foden and Adayabioro (city defender who was on loan), h The headline referring to 21-year-old defender Adarabioyo - who is on loan at West Brom - focuses on how he spent £2.25m on a property "despite having never started a Premier League match". By contrast, midfielder Foden, 18, "buys a £2m home for his mum" and is later described as having "set up a future". fwiw, when it comes to Sterling, it really is much more to do with media portrayal rather than public racism, in the very same way that David Beckham was absolutely crucified by the media after the 1998 world cup, and that had been brewing because of the way he was perceived, every single day he was in the papers because of his celebrity lifestyle, the sarong, haircuts, spice girl wife etc, they rubbed his lifestyle in people's faces and he got the backlash. Black or white, media image dictates people's perception of other people, and whatever abuse Sterling got post 2018 it was nothing compared to what Beckham got, not even close, he had death threats, effigies burnt and hung up on lamposts, given serious abuse at every single away ground for a long time. |

Ian Wright 56 says of Matthew Le Tissier 51 " he had a good run " how patronising can you get, obviously feels his job is safe, why is that ?

Wonder the reason they kept on Merson out of the 4.
Guess this is just going to be part of a reboot. All programmes like this go through a reboot every now and then. Tbh Soccer Saturday could probably do with more of a rotating panel, thing with having same panel is you get the same bias every week, and you often just recycling the same views week on week about other clubs. |
|
By:
I said earlier they probably kept Merson because he was the cheapest, maybe an agents fault. Maybe they want a younger audience and Merson does have that kid like personality.
