Almost complete rubbish day for me, in desperation laid at 2-0, saved a few Bob,luck must improve so will have another bash on tuesday. some of the tipping by the pundits has been way off then mark, odds on at home and then 2 nil down..shakes head

Depends on the bet personally
I could have ripped the screen to pieces when that penalty was missed, and 2-2 was a kick in the teeth |

Good weekend on the whole, lost a good sum on Schalke earlier by backing the draw as well after they went 0-1 down. Had to go on a bike ride with Mrs ‘Death so didn’t lump on Red Bill ante on handicap -1 or -2 can’t remember which was evens.
Backed Cologne small on the bike ride then backed the draw twice. Got home to find them 2-0 down with 5 minutes to go and accepted the loss. Had Shalke drawn earlier I dare say I might have risked a tenner or more on the draw at 85 at that point! Not sure whether to laugh or cry at that but a good win on the draw that more than covered earlier loss. Lost on Gladbach on Saturday but think Tuesday may recoup that loss. Leverkusen Shirley too strong for Wolfsburg but might leave it as I think we may have a Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Muhammad Ali type situation! |

Empty stadia, cardboard cut outs, canned 'atmosphere', s bloody d, masks, the elbow celebration thingy 'jeepers creepers its football Jeff but not as we knew it'.

Strange times indeed.
I'm checking out some info for Tuesday s games, look forward to continuing the thread then, will post tips on here. General pattern seems to be no particular home advantage, highly understandable, away teams not under any pressure from fans |

Its the home side that should have the advantage with no fans there expecting you to win, no fans moaning when you misplace a pass, etc etc. I actually think, the biggest advantage a home side has, is that it hasn't got to travel to an away game, plays on a pitch which it knows the size of, how it will play. I don't think the supporters make much difference at all. It was strange that there were so many away wins in the Bundesliga at the weekend and it shouldn't be because there are no supporters at the stadiums, as its the players that play the game, lack of atmosphere maybe, but if that is the only thing that makes football then the game is in desperate trouble.

The sample size is obviously ridiculously small but after the 2 match days the only major stats variances lie in the home wins.
I have to disagree to a certain extent cricketnut2 about the power of crowds to inspire & intimidate. You make some valid points above but many of the top Managers past and present recognised the advantage of the cliched 12th man & have at some point resorted to shaming their own support into becoming this clearly debatable figure. Klopp took a bit of stick when he first rocked up at Anfield, (celebrating a 2-2 draw at home to WBA in front of the Kop) but the shrewd fooker knew he needed to recreate the sort of bond they had at Dortmund where a fully bought in 'Yellow Wall' was in his mind at least a significant factor in his success there. According to many ex United players Fergusons main tactical advice for Anfield was to get through The 1st 20mins and quiet the crowd. The only top Manager off the top of my head who I can remember down playing home advantage is Cloughie...but then maybe he didn't have a Kop, Stretford End, etc in his arsenal to play with so it stands to reason he'd maybe go the other way with the psychology. Interesting subject, especially at the moment. |

Managed to come out ahead on the earlier games, shame about dortmund and osnabruck managed to win first in 8 games otherwise came out in decent profit.
Since laid mgladbach and lever kausen, backed frieberg and traded so all green at HT. Now traded out of draws and Wolfsburg so need some more goals second half. Pleased weeder managing to continue their recovery , need goals in all 3 games now. |
