we had spells where colombia got on top, either because we over played too slowly
at back, or sat back a bit. then in extra time we looked a bit shocked and took 20 minx to get back on top. ........if we are going to go long pickford can punt it further from the box than back 5 can from outside of it ......take note defenders and from a goal kick hes pitching it half way in their half, use that to get them to drop the press, send mcguire up for the goal kick, with sterling and kane running off him they wont solve it instantly so we can gain a little momentum |
By:
With Ali struggling for fitness I hope Southgate picks Loftus-Cheek rather than Dier.
|
By:
aye, we dont have much cover in the squad, and loftus cheeks strength and pace is likely
to be most useful v sweden , if alli is strugglin, |

England odds on to beat Sweden? Looks a bit wrong to me does that. Sweden were unlucky to lose to Germany, beat South Korea and then stuffed Mexico, beat a Swiss side ranked 6th in the world having lost only 1 of 24 games and are a well organised side that is playing well.
|
By:
hard to price, but i wouldnt want to be laying england at evs or odds against
what was unlucky about their loss to the worst german team in ages? they were better than switzerland and missed a few good chances... saw mexico game and thought mexico were poor that day...mexico needed a point and sort of got it all wrong i might be agreeing with myself in my assessments of sweden, but still dont think they should worry us, but agree they are well organised and a strong team, suited by the relaxation of refereeing |

I've watched all the Sweden games, they were excellent against Mexico, stopped the opposition playing, its part of the game. What was unlucky about their loss to Germany? You must have missed that game donny else you would know. They qualified in a Group that contained Holland and France, much tougher than ours, finished second and then had had to play a qualifier against Italy and beat them over two legs. They should be favourites against England, and yes I've layed us, hope to be wrong of course.
|
By:
no i saw germany v sweden, i saw no luck
germany had 3/4 possession, 18 shots to 7 and forced a winner with 10 men swedish keeper motm holland are gash |
By:
They only played with 10 men for the last 8 minutes! Yes the Germans controlled the second half, Swedes were one up and sat back on the laurels.
No one said that this was thew worst German team for ages BEFORE the tournament when they were one of the favourites having won their group with an impeccable 10/10 wins. Sweden should not be underestimated. |
By:
germany lost to south korea, lost to mexico, beat sweden, thats pretty
much the evidence for them being poor by german standards, they did struggle to put teams away in warm up games, lost to austria , beat saudi by odd goal in 3 i dont underestimate sweden, but see little attacking threat, so expect england to attack and if they let us do that i reckon we will score. imo, they are like a nice good boxer lacking a knockout blow at top level whereas i think we possess one doesnt mean we will win, but if theres any evs about, i will back us |
By:
I hope your right.
You will get your evens before long, but only over 90 minutes. I've layed us at 1.91 but will not pass the opportunity by should there be a chance to trade out at any stage. |
By:
aye, i hope i am right too !
cant wish you luck with your 1.91 lay, but at least some good would have come out of defeat |
By:
The lay is in the 90 minute market, we can still draw and win in extra time or penalty shoot out, then I'll be happy!
|
By:
aye, ok
i'd be happy with a routine victory, saving some energy for later games |
