I feel sorry for Emery, he's been left all these sh1t players that Wenger paid fortunes for and who put them on massive contracts, just so they would never question him, and now he's got to syphon through the sh1t and make a team. It'll take time but at least he makes changes when needed and not wait for the alarm on his watch to go off, like Wenger use to.

Took Xhaka off early again so hoping Emery benches him.
We looked better in the 2nd half. Once he picks the right side I think we may be OK under him. Bellerin was run ragged again and has stagnated for a few seasons now. |

Interesting spat on Emery Carragher/Neville Neville in a round about way saying pretty much where I am coming from - If you want to play out from the back pick players that can pass - for me that means Cech, Bellerin, Mustafi Xhaka HAVE TO BE DROPPED (harsh on Cech from a keeping point of view). Interesting also what he says about Emery's handling of Ozil last week. |
|
By:
Carragher talking nonsense after 2 games in FFS. Despite the shortcomings in the Chelsea match we still should have won it based on chances created and they looked just as shaky at the back as we did in the first half. He adapted second half and we defended better but only because we got men behind the ball and offered nothing going forward.
|
|
By:
Think you can only play a high line if you have real pace at the back. We don't. Emery will get to know what he can and cannot do with the players at his disposal.
Second half we sat back and hoped not to concede. We went from high line to every back behind the ball. Confusing to say the least. |
|
By:
Ian Wright on Guendouzi " He wins the ball and he keeps it and he tries to set off attacks with it....whereas if you look at someone like Xhaka he actually does the opposite..he's misplacing passes"
At last it's out there ! Surely dropped today. |

must win game today .....else pressure will build
|

Team to play West Ham: Cech, Bellerin, Mustafi, Sokratis, Monreal, Guendouzi, Xhaka, Mkhitaryan, Ramsey, Aubameyang, Iwobi.
Alright...can someone tell me wtf is going on here ? How is Xhaka still in the side. He has been hooked twice in 2 games has been absolutelt sh!te and STILL keeps his place. I give up. |
|
By:
What's the spanish for Xhaka is sh!te 'cos someone needs to tell Emery.

Pretty poor defending again. Doesn't seem to be getting any better yet.

Massive result for Emery that, good to get into the habit of beating the teams at your end of the table at home when you can't take points off any of the top half, or ever get a point away from home.

Three points away all year, against a team that had escaped relegation a game earlier.

I hope you're taking the p1ss Jon. Jed's a complete pillock with an inferiority complex. I can't imagine any Arsenal fans 'celebrating' on the unlikely chance of them winning anything. Jed's been masterbating furiously because we had a poor season last year and his Spuds managed to finish above us for the first time in years and years - to him that's like going through a whole season unbeaten or winning two doubles.

normally I dislike it when people talk/post in the third person but in the above case it's hard to argue with.

Yeah, fair play, he's self-aware enough to agree with the assessment.

Self awareness a rare thing on this thread.

Well thank you for boosting the number.

It will be interesting to see how we do against Cardiff on the road. I'm assuming no Ozil. Personally I'd start with Torriera, Xhaka and Lichsteiner.
|
|
By:
I noticed this morning that even after our dismantling of what must surely be the worst Man Utd team in decades, they are still a shorter price than Arsenal to win the League.

Xhaka !! you sure ? |
|
By:
I am a bit concerned as Emery picks Xhaka despite his performances. Xhaka CANNOT be 1 of 2 (central mid)as he has shown enough times now. His only remote possibility to be in the side is in the Ramsey role and it would be a big experiment and likely to fail.
Mhik isn't helping a defensively poor Bellerin, Ozil seems to have gone bye byes Ramsey was poor again in the 10 role so why not give Mhik his head in that role ? Something way outside of the box is needed because we look very poor. Leno-Lich-Sok-Must-Nacho-Torr-bellerin-Guendouzi-Welbeck-Mhik PEA. It looks horrible and I would not in an ideal world have DW/HB/SM in the side but we have clear and obvious problems that need addressing immediately. HB (right side mid)released from most of his defensive duty but helping a much better RB in Lich' would solve more problems than it creates. DW, as we all know has his problems but works his nuts off, is used to the left sided role and has pace. Mhik CANNOT play on the right with HB behind him so should be told he is in direct competition with Ozil for one place. That should focus both their minds. This side would not get exposed the way we have been (even WHU cut us apart at will ffs)and we need to start somewhere and for me it is defending where that start should be. |

The modern day philosophy of attack attack attack is all very commendable, but is difficult to implement if you don't have the players.
Too often the CB's are left one on one. No use scoring a goal only to gift one back at the other end. Think if Unai had bought a winger in the window, Bellerin might not be in the team. Miki does little as far as im concerned, and is a luxury. Agree with Enpassant that its either Miki or Ozil but not both. Xhaka been poor for some while, and Ramsey is inconsistant to my eye. Both could be shown the door imo. We knew Unai would need a season to get things the way he wants them, so its a game of wait and see for now. |
|
By:
Mustafi for me not good enough at doing the main part of his job rather see Holding given a go or the other young Greek player.
Xhaka yuk again, both could go tomorrow and we,d be no weaker imo. Ozil, luxury luxury and more luxury in general, will never step up and be counted in a big game, not done it once to date and nothing will change on that score, add to that he,s the highest ever paid player thanks to dopey Wenger we,l also have players wondering why he gets what he does when they have shown loyalty and get offered fractions in comparison. English connection almost completely disbanded now and a lot of average foreigners in their place, long way to go for the manager to get the balance right, I think it will take quite a while before we see the light at the end of the tunnel guys |
