Great to watch the new coaches coaching . Leno while training :
"The coordination is difficult when you haven't done it before"

That kind of thing hasn't been heard at the club for 20 years !

Unai Emery's first game as Arsenal boss couldn't have gone much better with his men thumping Boreham Wood 8-0 at Meadow Park.

The Spaniard named a mixture of first team regulars and youth stars in his starting XI, as well as handing a start to summer signing Sokratis.

The Gunners raced into the lead early on when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang curled home a brilliant finish from the edge of the box.

Aubameyang then doubled the visitors' lead with a header before scoring a hat-trick inside 20 minutes from the penalty spot.

Reiss Nelson made it five, chesting a cross down in the box and superbly volleying in off the bar.

Arsenal then made it five before half-time when Alexandre Lacazette latched on to an Aubameyang through ball to finish neatly.

Despite Emery naming an entirely different XI in the second half, Arsenal continued to dominate.

Eddie Nketiah poked home Lucas Perez's cross before Jeff Reine-Adelaide scored brilliantly from distance.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan wrapped up the win for the Gunners with a tidy finish.

There was also some action for new boy Matteo Guendouzi who came on for the final 20 minutes.

Relive all the action below...

Arsenal first half XI: Cech, Bellerin, Sokratis, Mavropanos, Osei-Tutu, Maitland-Niles, Willock, Smith-Rowe, Nelson, Aubameyang, Lacazette

Arsenal second half XI: Martinez, Jenkinson, Chambers, Holding, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Ramsey, Reine-Adelaide, Mkhitaryan, Perez, Nketiah

Far too injury prone unfortunately.

Heartless WesGrinGrin I agree with Swiss, shame for him. He would still be with us if Wenger had fcuked off beforehand for sure, as for good business, he wanted away and took less money, his choice and not ours or Wengers, our hands were tied like on so many other aspects that went on under Wenger.

£40m was good business imo. He is/was a poor passer of the ball. Hios best position would have been RWB but he wanted central mid and his game is not up to it.

Don't get me wrong, I do wish the Ox well but the sad reality is that his body is not up to the rigours of top level football.

Torriera is tough and strong on the ball which I like but he is also a good footballer, which, imho is a shame!

I am not saying Arsenal should have signed him when he was 7 but he is 15 years over due!

They have a top centre forward now and lets us see what these new central defenders and goal keeper are like but I believe the Captain Kirk might be an Arsenal fan of at least some 15 years standing and knows something of the deficiencies of the last 15 years!

I'd have Zaha
By:

I'd be delighted with either. I remember being impressed with Coman some time ago but Zaha has done it in the Premier and having such good players around him would make him even better.

When: 20 Jul 18 16:38
I looked at a 5min youtube video of Coman. He looked a little light on end product from that. Not very different to Gelson Martin who would have been a very poor signing imo.
