Can anyone tell me why the English goalkeeper tried to save a shot going to his right hand side with his left hand. If he is the best goalkeeper we have then we are in trouble.

By:
#COL XI: Ospina; Arias, Davinson, Mina, Mojica; Barrios, Sánchez, Lerma; Cuadrado, Quintero; Falcao.
By:
got to be overs here - too high a price, v. attacking england lineup, they'll score and concede, can see it being an open game with goals
By:
market not overly fussed without James
By:
james is a difference maker for sure. colombia will be a lot more defensive without him
By:
he is not the best "shot stopper" we have imo normanston
By:
no James, no party
By:
its become fashionable for keepers to have more to their game than that though
a bit like wicketkeepers in cricket & their batting |
By:
Penalty stats-
Pickford saved 5/30 - predicted to save 0.83 penalties Ospina saved 3/41 - predicted to save 0.36 penalties |
By:
I think most people did not expect James to start.I think he knew when he left the field after the last game he was unlikely to start.I would not risk him as a sub tonight.
By:
Gone for overs and a sneaky Henderson to score @ 28
By:
Nick Pope is Englands best penalty stopper with 3/13 - predicted to save 1.15 penalties. 3 of the ones he did not save were from Kane, Aguero and Sanchez. Could be a decent 120th minute sub.

By:
Camilo Vargas is the best on penalties for Colombia with 7/29 - predicted to save 1.21 penalties but not at a great standard.
By:
that's what Van Gaal did in the last world cup, hauled of Cillisen for Krul just before penalties and it worked
By:
So it looks like both teams should put on their 3rd string keeper

By:
Basically if we put Pope against Ospina it could be worth a goal for betting purposes.
By:
No rodriguez isn't such a big deal, it wouldn't be wise playing a half fit player in the position he plays, we'd have been better of if he did start because he's clearly not 100% imo
By:
Pope should be starting.

Please just play well.

Agree that Sterling has been poor in front of goal but Rashford did nothing much against Belgium. I would like Rash to come on with 15 minutes left against some tired defenders. Hopefully England will be ahead long before that.
By:
i'd rather have pope up front with kane than sterling.
By:
Jimmy Rodriguez is a bit of a show pony, imo. Won't make much difference him not playing. Might make Colombia harder to score against.
By:
Going to be a Sterling night for England, Raheem finally comes of age and to the party, smash the Colombians all over the place and have the Swedes worrying...!

Park the bus job from Colombia, three defensive midfielders and virtually no speed up top. So you'd think unders, but on the flip side we're set up to be so attacking. In play job, but if we take the lead, think this could get messy for the Colombians

By:
prices not changed too much with the rodriguez news, almost like the market expected the talk was true
I didn't ![]() |
