Allardyce gone
Posted at 19:46 The Football Association has confirmed Sam Allardyce has left his position as England manager by mutual consent. In a statement, the FA said: "Allardyce's conduct, as reported today, was inappropriate of the England manager. "He accepts he made a significant error of judgement and has apologised. However, due to the serious nature of his actions, The FA and Allardyce have mutually agreed to terminate his contract with immediate effect." |

ALLARDYCE STEPS DOWN AS ENGLAND MANAGER Sam Allardyce has left his role as England manager less than three months after taking charge of the Three Lions. Allardyce and the Football Association have mutually agreed to terminate the 61-year-old's contract in the wake of a sting operation conducted by undercover journalists working for the Daily Telegraph. On Tuesday a report in The Daily Telegraph claimed Allardyce had told the reporters it was possible to "get around" an FA rule, introduced in 2008, banning third parties from owning part of a player's economic rights. |

Sam Allardyce: "Further to recent events, the FA and I have mutually agreed to part company.
"It was a great honour for me to be appointed back in July and I am deeply disappointed at this outcome. "This afternoon, I met with Greg Clarke and Martin Glenn and offered a sincere and wholehearted apology for my actions. "Although it was made clear during the recorded conversations that any proposed arrangements would need the FA’s full approval, I recognise I made some comments which have caused embarrassment. "As part of today’s meeting, I was asked to clarify what I said and the context in which the conversations took place. I have co-operated fully in this regard. "I also regret my comments with regard to other individuals." |

People calling Sam thick, but he demonstrates the complete confidence of someone at it, and getting away with it, for many, many years.

Complete Wayne Carr of the highest order..
....Hoddle for me.. |

Like i say he destroyed Bolton in the long run
Spot on. He made an absolute balls of Newcastle where his signings stunk the place out. After 1 game with England and playing Rooney, you knew he was destined for failure. The FA have dodged a bullet. |
By:
Maybe they planted the bullet RQ

Not sure Sam's advisor has much of a future career...

The Telegraph began investigating corruption in English football last year after receiving information that specific managers, officials and agents were taking or receiving cash payments to secure player transfers. Over the coming days the Telegraph will detail how:
The assistant manager of a high-profile football club accepted a £5,000 cash “bung” Ten managers were named by players’ agents as taking bribes to fix player transfers Two well-known managers discussed becoming ambassadors for the same fictitious firm as Sam Allardyce Another high-profile manager admitted his players broke FA rules by betting on their own games but he failed to report it A senior figure at a Premier League club helped undercover reporters to formulate a plan to bribe managers |

A top clubs assistant takes 5k ( deserves to be caught for risking your job for 5k ) |

By:
"The FA and Allardyce have mutually agreed to terminate his contract with immediate effect" is jargon for "sacked".

By:

the most successful manager England have ever had
actually ppl are slagging him off and saying he ain't the sharpest knife in the draw but his cv is now enhanced at international level should soon be in line for a top european club appointment shrewd dude our sam |
By:
To be fair, they should pay him to the end of the week.
By:
Pay off??? How the fck can he get a pay off? He broke the rules.
By:
I'm glad he was caught, but had to laugh at the alacrity with which Alan Green popped up to add his tuppnyworth. Could barely disguise his glee when he revealed that Allardyce had tried to get him sacked from 5Live a few years ago.
Good old Greeny never one to miss an opportunity to stick the boot in to someone who has failed to treat him with the deference to which he thinks he is entitled.!"I take no pleasure in saying this etc.." ![]() ![]() |

Big Sam stupid and greedy to get involved in things like that, you'd have thought he'd be a bit more street wise.
By:
Bet he wasn't an angel at West Ham or Bolton either
By:
couldnt we save the 3 million and let the england players take it in turns to be the player manager , because when push comes to shove its going make no difference whos in charge of this shower
By:
This must be a world record surely? One game in charge and greed takes over. Can't recall anything so short lived but feel free to correct me if wrong.
By:
Hound-Dog but he has been doing it for years so for all we know he was going along to a normal meeting but obviously with his new role as England manager he thought he would be ambassador and all sorts not just the old brown envelope.
By:
It was recorded before his first game. So greed took over before he even managed a game.
By:
Yep let's put a random fan in charge....not difficult to improve on the tourney record....#rookie winner
