i always wondered why the swedish coach looks like they are reading instructions when looking at their notes.

Larrson not putting a shift in and keeps leaving Flroenzi open on the left

Traded my way into taking roughly 4/6 about Italy. Sharp mind, me.

I like that Italy are not dominating this game. A bit of ambition from Sweden gives Italy a better chance of breaking the deadlock. Italy not looking great at present.

Italy have the oldest side in the tournament, I believe. They'd do well to win this game, so they can relax in the third and final group game. I don't think they believe Sweden are a stronger side than Ireland, so they might as well get the job done today. Fancy them to nick it in the last 20 minutes of the game. Sweden aren't creating anything from open play, relying too much on the big lump up front to come up with something. Grin

unders is 14-4 by my calculation, and well on way to 15-4. Maybe time to make goals a bit bigger ?

This is rubbish. Pretty much like every game this tournament. Not a single one would you close to rewatch unless you were Irish.

These days even poor sides are organized far better defensively, this means that the attacking flair needs to progress to compensate...this is not happening so we get games like these.

Aside from Spain in recent years we've seen this gradually creep in, you still see the top stars shine at club level but rarely do you see it at national level.

Sweden know they stand a good chance against Belgium so a draw enough - certainly enough for Italy .

I listened to the world football phone in podcast a few weeks back and its being discussed in south America...players cover so much more ground etc..I love my football but it is getting a bit stale if u add all the diving and lack of the game flowing

we will see rule changes over time , although  there is much to be admired with defending ,but not everyones cup of tea i must admit

i think the refs have been told to try and keep it flowing but there is so many ways to kill a game...it just doesnt flow like it used too and everyones too scared of losing or making mistakes
By:
Dodgepicker
When: 17 Jun 16 14:54
there can still be good defending in a game where 4 goals per game is seen as average, this is just turgid stuff...

The format hasn't helped at all, there's almost zero reason to take an chances.
