What happens if he gets found guilty again though regarding sentencing. Does he just get 5 years again and he's free to go because he's served his time? Potentially could get more or less than 5 years, what happens then?

I don't think anybody will be apologising. There's no doubt that Evans' behaviour was dredfully sleazy. It's whether it was criminal,or criminal enough to amount to rape.

He won't be but if he did it would be back to jail i think , he was released early and showed no remorse so why was he even released?

Sleazy is not illegal

Ennis on Santander Christmas adverts is also sleazy and shes all about money and publicity , She jumped on the Tyson Fury hate campaign also did she not.

Those who thought his football career was over may have been hasty. It looks like he is turning down Sheffield United.

There's sleazy and there's SLEAZY. I didn't say being sleaszy or even SLEAZY makes it criminal. The girl said she couldn't remember what happened so the original jury decided she was not fit to give her consent. Whether that makes it safe to convict is presumably why there is a re-trial but if he is found not guilty most people will still regard him as a sc**b*g.

it is not the law being retried, it is the evidence, now that new evidence is available

Just think why was he released after 2.5 years and showed no remorse , that means he should do full time no? It was obviously all set up for the re-trial

It does seem new evidence has appeared. Be interesting to see what that is as my understanding was there was no great conflict over what took place.

talk about some evidence they were hoping to obtain before the appeal

I mean before he left jail would he not have to sit and admit it to get half the time

For rape anyway i would expect this to be the case as he would have to show he is no threat to the public , denying it for 2.5 year in jail is not showing the release board or whatever you call it you wont rape again.

I thought you had to admit guilt and it was a mistake and all that?

i think our jails are simplt too full chaser and early release is a must

No mate, for determinate sentences ie not life with a minimum term of X, half time is what you serve. No need to fess up, apologise etc. Prisons full of innocent people though haha

A timely warning lads..be very careful,there are some truly vindictive people(mostly women} working for the CPS and the police.only last week 4 lads had a  lucky escape as police and prosecutors withheld evidence that would have cleared them.2 years of their lives made hell by these people.

It's difficult to comment if there is new evidence. I suspect Evans may genuinely consider himself not guilty as the girl may have said yes and presumably didn't say no. However she said that she was so drunk she couldn't remember and there was CCTV evidence that suggested it was plausible that was true. So it became an interesting legal case. Whether the new evidence changes that we'll have to see.

I agree Ched Evans morals were pretty woeful....I could not defend them

But in my opinion this was not rape, because she consented to sex,

Evans took advantage of this women when her defences were very low, this makes him a cad, but not a rapist

I agree leazes I think that is happening as well.

I nearly ended up there but got CS for an absolute pathetic charge of assaulting a police officer but it got dropped to something lower RESISTING ARREST , they feckers wanted me jailed.
