If they can pick up 20 points from their next 12 games then they may have a shout. 8 really tough fixtures in that 12 though.

like all teams Leicester will have injuries that will hurt them badly; fair play to them though for making a good go of it though

in response to the opening post, what stranger things have happened? Leicester winning the league would be the strangest thing I can think has ever happened, got to be 1000s to 1 before the start of the season

Theyve played 16 teams Confused

Will have been 2500+ /1  with bookies. Seeing as its a league season rather than a one off event would easily be the biggest shock of all time imo

Still available 3/1 to finish top 4 Shocked
Looking good all season and a 9 point cushion over Spurs in 5th

A nice thought but no - the Cartel will see to that, Vardy sold off and equilibrium will be restored.

Leicester winning the league would be the shocks of all shocks  - even though they have a great spirited side .but keeping the run will be hard .Pleased for Raneiri tonight .Cool

interesting to see the leaders on 2pts a game averages - havent seen that since for donkeys  years  -    the current league with the teams and points looks like something from the  1980s era Laugh

Kauserslautern was probably the biggest shock of the last 20 year winning the Bundersliga in '98 as a newly promoted club  - would be similar

Not a chance. It's hardly a brilliant laying price given you have to wait five months to get paid, but you probably won't get many better opportunities than tonight's overreaction price to lay.

Don't get me wrong, they've done brilliantly, but they'll probably end up lucky to be within a dozen-plus points of the title.

the bloob, I was thinking of Greece 2004, but you're right, Greece wouldn't have been that big.

In other sporting occassions, Ivanisevic winning wimbledon as a wildcard, Liverpool coming back to win CL from 0-3 down would have been massive odds. Wasn't a gambling man back thenGrin

good luck winning the league

Sky just showed it, 5000/1 to win the league and 1000/1 to be top 4. Compare that to 80/1 Greece or 300/1 Liverpool at half-time

just getting top 4 would be amazing, 9/4 shot now

I'm pretty sure Denmark to win Euro 1992 would have been pretty high after they failed to qualify.

that gets quoted a lot for some weirdo reason ,but the odds werent that great  - there have been far bigger shocks this week .

Prob because of the occassion

do you know who was offering 5000/1 ?  not like bookies to offer those odds

liverpool only drew, doubtless the odds to win in 90 mins would have been bigger

newcastle to draw with arsenal was 250 on here when 4-0 down at half time

lol can't be serious coachbuster, Liverpool were awful in that first half and Traore was having a shocker, thought the game was going to end up 10-0.

Have to remember the Milan team was

Maldini-Nesta-Stam-Cafu
Seedorf-Pirlo-Gattuso-Kaka
Shevscheko-Creso.

To overturn 0-3 in a CL final from the 54th minute onwards against that team was some feat.

Leicester winning the league would dwarf all those. To do it over 38 games given the immense difference in all measurable terms of ability would be utterly phenomenal.

Must be several horses every week - especially at the moment - that get matched at 1000 and win.

Football wise, probably plenty of correct scorelines do. But most go completely under the radar, and maybe matched only for a few sheckels.

coachbuster technically you are correct, bigger odds winners than CL final of course, but shock value wise, given the huge occasion, CL final comeback was bigger than Sweden match which wasn't even in a tournament, a qualifier, Germany were top of their group with Faroes and Kazakhstan still to play, what was at stake there was no where near as big at the time.

On another surprise comeback, Man City being 3-0 down away to Tottenam 10 odd years ago in the FA Cup, playing with 10 men with Barton sent, off, then won 3-4 in injury time. Anyone remember the odds?

ahh yes - now youre talking -  that Manchester City game was  the pinacle of upsets .

I'd say 1000/1 would have been easily available   - although i'm sure someone knows on here for sure Cool

Barc  0 Hercules 2

was another game i remember ,not sure if the 0-2 was every 1000/1  at KO ,would have been damned close though . Hercules i believe were relegated and Barca ?  -  still the best in the business at the time

Here's two from yesteryear to price up:

Huddersfield 5-1 up and a man up (man injured pre substitutions) vs Charlton with 27 minutes to play. Ended up 7-6 to Charlton - the only reported time in professional football history a team has scored six and lost.

And Southampton 3-0 at half-time in the FA Cup to lower division strugglers Tranmere, yet lost 4-3.
