I think you are underestimating the importance of finishing in the top 4, if utd fail they will only be able to sign greedy failures.
A lot at steak hear. |

By:
world class, history, giants of the game
...all the superlatives will be out in force today At least the El Classico is on so they do have a big game today |
By:
good in terms of rivalry and passion, and being important for both clubs.
Not good in terms of being the elite sides in the competition. |
By:
Its a big game, for those 2 clubs, 2 clubs that used to be big clubs in europe, but of course they are both living off their past achievements. Its just another game, between 2 average clubs.
By:
Oh and enjoy your steak, Ibrahima.
By:
slightly above average surely cricket, you exaggerate a little given the size of these two.
By:
Yes they are both big clubs, with big support, but both are just plain average sides.

Professional football is 99.9% hype.
Don't tell me you're surprised about the fanfare? They're probably going to tell us we should get excited about Dull City -v- Dullsea as well... |
By:
They're above average in league position too.
By:
Yes, but our League, has never been of a lower standard, than it is now
By:
Too much money has ruined the game. What else is new? Would you be bothered if you got paid ridiculous sums of money every week even if you didn't perform?
By:
38 league titles between them. 12 European trophies won along with numerous other honours. & 2 of the biggest fanbases in the world.
In terms of size, there's nothing in this country that even comes close to a Liverpool v Manchester United match, irrespective of league positions. |
By:
It's a huge game
By:
I agree, with that Mrmeaner
By:
Chelsea v City much bigger nowadays
By:
Chelsea v Man City will never be a big game, ever, because nobody cares how two small clubs which have suddenly got a few quid get on.
By:
No 0-0's in the pl yesterday..feel this will be the first of the weekend.

By:
City 4th best team in country right now, maybe 5th
By:
Not a fan of either team but this is always the biggest game in English football.
It has been for years. |
By:
If Spurs hadn't been so abject for the last 25 years, Arsenal v Spurs would run it close, that used to be the biggest game in England by far.
By:
Chelsea v City will never be a big game.
By:
Spurs are the biggest and most watchable team in England because of Harry Kane.

It's not a big game in the present, it's two teams of yesteryear playing a game hyped up on past glories, one manager with zero trophies to his name thinks he's the messiah and the other peaked in the mid 90's, only world class player on show would have been Di Maria and he's a shadow of the player he was. 2-1 Liverpool, Young to be booked for diving.
By:
Chelsea, are a totally boring team to watch, while City only play well, against inferior clubs. Its only a big game, because these two are the top 2 sides, at the moment. It would never get near a Liverpool/United game or even an Arsenal/Spurs game, for tradition and excitement.
By:
yeah the mover, internationally it may be a big game, but let's be honest, nobody in England cares about Chelsea or man city, never mind Chelsea v man city. If they did, Chelsea wouldn't need to advertise on the radio for people to come to their matches.

Yep those 2 titles in the 100 odd years before then really had Tottenham up there in the running to be involved in the "biggest" game in English football. |
By:
8 European cups between them, different class

Even Chelsea fans don't care about Chelsea. If you go to Stamford Bridge, none of their fans make any noise. You can literally hear a pin drop. I suppose it's understandable because they can be dull and boring.
By:
That's not including Uefa and cup winners cups

Feck me I wish this was true. I'd have saved hours not having to pursue ultimately fruitless tasks of trying to get mates tickets for most games. |

Lets be honest Liverpool and Man Utd are sh1t. The only good thing about the Prem this season is Harry Kane. I hope he starts against Lithuania next week for England as he is currently better than Rooney, Sturridge and Welbeck.

Regardless of titles Marcce, Spurs v Arsenal was the biggest game in English football for decades. Try to remember that before all this money came along, the same teams did not win the League every year, or the FA Cup. How many doubles lately, for instance? When Spurs won the double in 1961, that was the first time anyone had done it in the 20th century.
What I can tell you for sure is that pre-Abramovich, there had never been a big game in this country that involved Chelsea. |
By:
Chelsea v Man City would be a massive game in 30 years time if they dominated the league for that long.

It wasn't the biggest game throughout the 70's, 80's and 90's. So what decades are we actually talking about here? |
