FC Porto have been patiently waiting on Benfica dropping pts for what seems like an eternity Laugh I thought they were about to be given the chance to close to within 2pts(Benfica drawing with Rio Ave) but even better they can narrow it to just a single point as Benfica lost to a late, late winner.

Bet #1 => £5 on Porto @ 1.38 Cool

Poor, poor, poor Porto Angry The equivalent of chasing a hot babe for months...week after week of rejections until she finally gives in, pulls down her panties to reveal a perfectly trimmed muff, and tells you to give her a good seeing to... and you just cant't get it up. Scared Laugh

Round 2...

Onto some mickey mouse football, sorry, "soccer" in the MLS. Galaxy look a different class to most of the dross in the league. I confidently back them to beat poor travelers Houston Dynamo...

Round 3...

Liverpool rarely fail to deliver at Anfield and can usually be relied upon to at the very least give you a real run for your money. I'll gladly take them odds-against vs such an unconvincing United side. A HW will see Pool overtake and replace United in the last CL spot. Pool must be careful they don't afford them too much space to counter or else they could find themselves getting a similar hiding to the 1 they got at OT, despite dominating the vast majority of the game.

You jinxed it, undern :( Laugh Seriously though, Liverpool? on the basis of that performance they should remove the last l from their name.

Round 4...

Chelsea have been far from impressive of late but even at 60% of their full potential should still be too good for rotten Hull.

Talk about a struggle Cry I was getting ready to ask if there were any layers willing to offer me odds on the Sun rising tomorrow? :D

Biggest club match in world football(after the Old Firm that is Grin) at the Nou Camp tonight and I'm siding with the HW. On recent form this would be a total mismatch, but we know previous form in these type of massive games can fail to follow the obvious script. Particularly with the calibre of players we're talking about on Real's side who have the attacking ammo to embarrass any defence in the blink of an eye. Nevertheless, Barca are riding on a great wave of momentum atm and have collectively looked better and much sharper than the whites of late..so I'll back them to confirm their apparent superiority..taking a firm grip of La Liga in the process.

bet #2 => 7.33 on Barca @ 1.66 Cool

Bamos Barca!

I accept it's a challenge that's likely to fail many times, but it's not guaranteed to fail every time. All that's needed is 1 big consecutive winning run...which would cancel out any stakes lost in previous attempts. Keeping in mind that the initial stake is peanuts. Let's say I was willing to spend the equivalent of £1 a day on this for a whole year... that's 70+ attempts I can have. And if I fail on all 70 attempts, I've lost £365! who gives a fuq! most of us have lost that in a few hrs of gambling. Instead of being a bunch of pessimistic douchebags with your "it can't be done" speeches and your funny monkey pics..why not contribute daily with your ideas of solid bets? The odds should be between 1.30-2.00

No bet from me today. Missed a few good opportunities earlier for horses to win/place.(Sleet, Kindlelight Storm, Sammy's Warrior, Mister Grez, The Outlaw, River Dancing...) And the football fixtures are utter garbage Sad

Today garbage from a punting point of view but we can't keep going 24/7 Grin cheers.

There was 1 bet at the football today that I missed. Lasi! No doubt the Romanian league is a complete joke but the odd price pops up in any situation where it's just plain rude not to take. That was surely the case with the DNB on Lasi today. I think I seen them around 1.50+ or something? From the stats alone I noticed they were dominating the game and even after they took the lead there were still offers of 1.30+... don't get me wrong, I'd never stake hundreds on mickey mouse dross like that, but when the stakes are still in the peanut zone we shouldn't mind playing a little looser...

This is the danger Pro, betting on these matches,don't get me wrong they can throw up some good value bets like ur one today, but i like to watch the matches start to see what the flow is before i get involved.
Sometimes punt the 0-0 bfore ko and trade out later once i see how it's going.
Try to make every bet a winning one is very difficult but is the way forward,once u start small stakes for an interest or a gamble that's where the bank balance suffers and temptation to chase creeps in i think.
Catch up tomorrow gl.

wycombe have only lost once away all season which is the best in all the leagues
I took the draw no bet at 19/20 last night and would be surprised if they left empty handed

do something similiar myself for small enough money (5/10/20...the very odd 50)

no real aim, just hope to be a little ahead every month and even if its only 50 a month it'll all add up and ive had a bit of fun doing it
only took me about 20 years to stop chasing entirely  Blush

throwthetellyoutawindow, I know what you're saying but NO gamble is bombproof. The point I was making is I'm personally not prepared to lose a large amount on what I consider "low quality" fare. But I'm prepared to lose a low amount on it. Although It still has to be in the shape of a value bet. As for any chasing, that's just pure indiscipline and can happen with any form of betting. I burned that nonsense out of myself a long time ago Cool

Westender, what can you get for fiver these days? a couple o' bags of 10p crisps Laugh

Cheers, TheEdd :) Feel free to post any solid wagers you have. I do believe this challenge would be a little easier if there were many different sources giving bets from ALL types of sports. I personally only have enough knowledge about football and horse racing so they're the only 2 sports I get seriously involved in. But imagine if we had contributors in other sports like Baseball, Basketball, Ice Hockey, NFL etc.. Having many more minds involved with a broader range of selection would be ideal.

saltmountain, I'm looking to avoid aways as much as possible. When I do get involved it's usually with the cushion of the draw(X2 market) I don't fancy anything tonight myself in what is another poor set of fixtures...so the money shall ride on your sure feeling that Wycombe won't lose.

Many Spaniards don't have a distinction between V and B. That's why if you listen to Mendieta on Sky Sports when he's covering Spanish games, he'll say Balencia instead of Valencia. Sebilla instead of Sevilla etc..

So yes, it's "officially" spelled Vamos. But to many people it's pronounced Bamos. And it's the way I'll always say it/spell it Cool

Hoping to see 1 more goal for you.. in Wycombe's favour though Grin

In most parts of Spain, "v" is pronounced as "b". Also in some parts,  soft "c" is lisped, therefore Balenthia.Happy
