Sion were booted out the other season for the same thing and Celtic went through.

The Polish FA have always been anti Rangers and biased in Celtics favour.
I've said for years that this corrupt institution must go.
No doubt this will be called a dishonest mistake.

Oh he was sent off in his last UEFA match against Apollon in the Europa League 12/12/13

Apollon    0 - 2 Legia Warszawa
0 - 1 8' T. Jodłowiec
0 - 2 63' T. Brzyski
Red Card 69' G. Sangoy
Red Card 69' B. Bereszynski

--------

And they bring him on with 4 minutes to go in the 2nd leg against Celtic. Hmmmm

The uncertainties emerged after letting in 87 minutes on the pitch Bereszyńskiego Wednesday's meeting. In the last round of the group stage of the Europa League last season defender was shown a red card in the match against the Cypriot team Apollon Limassol (2-0).

But there's been 4 champions league matches for Legia since. SO even a 3 game ban should have expired

Legia Warsaw
Bartosz Bereszynski (Legia Warsaw) is shown the red card for fighting.

Bereszyński not played in three games this season in the Champions League qualifying. He was not on the pitch in two clashes with the Irish St Patrick's Athletic in the second round of qualifying and in the first meeting against Celtic (4-1).

Whoops

Was he on the bench for any of those games?
By:

------
Bartosz Bereszyński not play 3 matches in European cups. The beginning of the season will belong to Luke Brozia.

Bartosz Bereszyński begin preparations for the new season in a very comfortable situation. It is known that in the beginning everything is subordinated to the eliminations of the Champions League, a 22-year-old right-back can not occur in three meetings cup. This is the effect of a red card that was shown at the last meeting of the League of Europe Apollon Limassol (2:0). - One irresponsible behavior costs a lot to me - he said.

------

Seems to me that he should be ok for the celtic 2nd leg game

Thats from the player himself, so unless they all got it wrong and like us thought the ban ended after the next 3 uefa games.

did he get registered?
By:
maas
When: 07 Aug 14 19:54
it doesnt matter, its partipating in the game. maybe the ban was for more than 3 games (fighting) but it was assumed it was 3 games, hence them bringing him on in the 4th game
By:

When: 07 Aug 14 19:54
mike-lfc na we could get beat and drop straight in europa thats what im thnking of , avoid europa qualifier

By:
maas
When: 07 Aug 14 20:04
Its because Legia didnt register for the St Patrick games, then those do not count towards the ban. So as it stands he was serving his 2nd game of 3 game ban against Celtic.

So its a "technical" issue.

Speaking purely as a neutral I think Legia should be made to say sorry it won't happen again and then we can move on.
I think this is the fair way to approach it.
By:

When: 07 Aug 14 20:05
This is different from the Sion game, i said then that Celtic should have sent a reserve team for the 2nd leg because we were going through anyway.
legia will be fined, 20k or so, there is precedent with the Debrecen scenario.
