Either the result stands and they're out or they go through and play a decent side and get knocked out anyway. Imagine these clowns away to the likes of Steaua or Salzburg. But if we got hammered in next round we would drop straight i europa groups not have to play a qualifier so there is an edge here |

no chance really is there. draw is tomorrow at 11 and UEFA will announce decision before then. Legia officials are already in Nyon for the draw.
if they got kciked out, they'd appeal it, and go on and on. i think it'll just be accepted |
|
By:
It would also be different if the player had played 180 minutes and scored a goal or 2. But 4 minutes when it was 6-1. Give it up and move on.

No way bisco, it was an even game

just accept they played a banned player and move on is the way it should be ?

if it was a proper suspension (he got sent off in his last match and played in the next one) then maybe but this is almost a technicality. A mistake on a sheet of paper

i think someone should be banned or fined or booted out

Guaranteed as soon as this came out Lawwell would of been on the blower trying to get it overturned. No way is he gonna let all that potential dosh go without doing everything he can.

If in the unlikely event Legia do get thrown out the draw will have already been made for the next round. So Celtic will take Legia's place in the unseeded side of the draw.
Good luck ;) |

Hmm... maybe I was being a touch premature earlier.
Re: Debrecen Their case was fielding an ineligible player. Legia fielded a player who was suspended, this is not the same as the Debrecen case. Could go either way now. |

THATS IT SNEAKY PETE WILL SEE $$$$$$£££
the thing is if we appeal and it gets rejected we will look even bigger mugs as someone pointed out we can show some respect and give it up i would take the tie obviously but cant see it as the 3 games for his suspension where really over |
|
By:
a bans a ban and he was banned but the 3 games where up , well they thought they where

Celtic are looking for the uncrossed 't's or the missing dots on the 'i's to progress to the latter stages.

seen this on a forum so if this is true the match is forfeited
Hopefully this will clear things up for any latecomers. 1. The Legia player had a 3 match ban hanging over him. He was not registered as part of the squad for the 2nd Qualifying Round against St Pats. Therefore he did not serve his suspension. 2. When he came on last night he was deemed a suspended player. 3. UEFA differentiates between a suspended player participating in a match, and an ineligible player participating in a match. 4. The Rules state Quote: A match *is* declared forfeit if a player who has been suspended following a disciplinary decision participates in the match and Quote: A match *may* be declared forfeit if a player who is ineligible participates in the match, as long as the opposing team files a protest Therefore the first rule should be used. The player was suspended, so the match *is* forfeit. Not *may* be forfeit. 5. The Debrecen story is muddying the waters and irrelevant. The Debrecen player was ineligible, not suspended. Debrecen simply made an administrative error and forgot to include him name on the teamsheet. The rule for ineligible players allows for punishment other than forfeit. 6. There have been at least 2 other instances of forfeit games in the last few years due to suspended players playing. Budućnost of Montenegro were awarded a 3-0 win in 10/11 after Baku fielded a suspended player. Mura 05 of Slovenia were given a 3-0 win after Arsenal Kyiv fielded a suspended player. 7. The "List B" thing is a non-starter. Bereszyński was not eligible to be on Legia's "List B". He is too old, and hadn't been at the club for long enough. He also wasn't registered on the list, according to the UEFA site. 8. If UEFA follow their rules to the letter they should decide on a forfeit. But who knows if there is some other regulation buried away in there which will allow them to reduce the punishment. 9. What a complete red neck it'd be. |
