Netherlands were able to beat a terrible Spanish team but it should be a different story coming up against the Socceroos.

Dutch will come in over confident and wont be able to handle Cahill's forehead.

Australia 2-1 Netherlands

In Cahill We Trust

I'm Aussie, but in this game the dutch are surely scoring 3. The aussie side is terrible, despite how much our commentators talk them up.

Netherlands for the win an absolute certainty. unquoted for me.

Good luck all :)

But on the Aussies I said this on their forum, they very good v Chile and Holland were very good v a side still deploying the worn out tiki taka football the world's caught on to.

They might be, they might not be. Not exactly world beaters, playing Brazil in Brazil. The Dutch on neutral ground is a lesser task.

The Aussies got a good thumping of Friday and the Dutch display against the Spanish will have given them a few sleepless nights so they may well decide to park the bus.

Not every defence is as generous as the Spanish.

Baffled why odds have shifted slightly in favor of Australia.  I cannot imagine them conceding less then three goals and it will likely be 4+.  Also doubt they score, what spaces they were given against Chile the talent up front looked dreadful (except Cahill).

AH -1.5, UQ now mid 4's etc.  Confident in this one.

any nation that's given us Thor deserves a win?

I love it how someone on here was downplaying the Dutch winning 5-1 against the Spanish. So unlikely Oz will win, but their results, goals-wise, are up and down, and a 1-0 defeat isn't the most unlikely scenario in the world. Oz will surely be a bit more conservative than against Chile, the Dutch a public bet, ect. One to sit back and cheer Oz on, for me, even though I've backed Holland to win the tournament.

holland will probably win but the value at these odds is def laying them. this is going to be a very different test for the orange. spain chased the game and left themselves exposed at the back - the aussies wont be doing that. the dutch will not have acres of space to work with this time. we don't know how they'll react against a packed defence. lets see how they get on without 20 yards of clear green grass to work with.

Australia have a young team with a young defense.  They are not going to be able to shut down any top tier attack.

Aussies are very poor. Don't be fooled into thinking otherwise cos they scored a goal v Chile. Everyone scores against Chile.

1.84 seems pretty good to me, Holland a far superior side.

This will be a very different game to the Spain one, they wont get the same space, but LVG is a good coach and will adapt.

Willing the group means avoiding Brazil so I imagine LvG will have spent months dissecting the teams in Holland's group.

I very much doubt Holland will be relaxed about playing the Socceroos.

Robbens strength is counter attacking which he wont get to do much of, but RvP very  good in limited space.

the proud boys in orange can hold their heads up high as far as the tv goes, they will be producing 2 hours of amusement for us -1 handicap backers this evening.  we have to call it entertainment as the word 'sport' denotes an expectation of competition, the royal orange will not disappoint.
