Anyone suggesting Australia have the remotest chance here needs their bumps felt.
Gift 1 the 1.25 on offer for Holland that should be no offers. Gift 2 the Dutch -1 at 1.82 its hard to see how they cannot score at least 2 goals against an Aussie side that aren't sure if this is football, quidditch, cricket or a combination of all 3  gift 3 Holland ht/ft at 1.78 can we really imagine the Dutch going 45 minutes without scoring against an Aussie side that lost 3-1 to an average Chile ? gift 4 could be the gift of all gifts with the unquoted at 4.5, the chasm in class is so big the Aussies probably wouldn't be able to stop an in form Holland scoring 4 if they were allowed to carry boomerangs. Someone on here admitted he was an Aussie "sorry champ but the roo's are going to have their nuts blown off today by a class outfit" The cricket scoreboard is up to keep count on this one |

Were any of those 3 previous meetings competitive matches, or just friendlies? Not sure that stat is worth reading too much into either way.

If the Dutch win, they will qualify.
If the Aussies don't win, they are out. Something else to consider is that the Dutch were making cheese before Australia was ever discovered! I strongly suggest you base your bets on these very important facts. Express your gratitude after the result and please don't say you weren't told! |

We should do well at the Asian cup, will qualify for Russia and potentially take a better side there than we have now.
A number of players will be mid 20s and in their prime, with 4 solid years of international and european league experience. These guys include Oar, Leckie, Ryan, Davidson, Halloran, Kruse, Luongo, Rogic. There's also a gun 17 year old De Silva who has just signed a deal that will take him to Serie A side Roma at the end of next A league season. Add to the fact it's unlikely we cop 3 sides of the caliber of Spain, Holland and Chile in the one group next time. I honestly reckon the next 5 years under Ange will be one of the most positive in Australian football history. |

Agree...the 1.25 and the 1.82 do seem big...there's probably a bit of people being wary of the dutch at play here....even so, they could play appalingly here and run out comfortable winners.

2-0 massacre tonight, on the back of one result everybody thinks the dutch are a great team. The Germans would beat them by 3.

i'm lumping on the dutch here, as a saver I think Cahill to score is a decent bet as if Aus are to do anything it will be off the back of him as the rest of the Aussies just aren't capable of scoring at this level I don't think

Australia doesn't have the talent to match the Dutch playing an aggressive attacking style of game. Think Postecoglou will look to play safe in the first 45-60 minutes and look for opportunities to play on the counter. Do think though if the Dutch get an early goal, the game will really open up. Don't think 1 point does Australia much good in all honesty and they have to look to get 3 points to have a remote chance of making the next stage

obviously the aussies will defend deep and hit on the counter, anything else would be idiocy
if the aussies can frustrate the dutch for 20/25 mts the orange heads will go down and then anything is possible however if the dutch score early it could be 5 or 6 |

Dutch win but anyone expecting a rout simply because they smashed Spain is in for a surprise as this will be a totally different game. Dutch sat back and kept catching a slow Spain defence on the break but against Australia they'll have to force the play and you'd expect Australia to sit deep and not leave too much space behind for Robben to run into.
That said, the Dutch have too much attacking quality for the Aussies. |
