Chile were stalling for time at the end there. The goal came cos Aus were tired. They put in the effort but the class wasn't there.

not sure holland 5-0 australia is realistic. Maybe 3-1.

A 3-1 loss, but full of pride after that display. Bring on the Asian Cup at home. Few, if any, countries play with the heart the Aussies do.

I can go hundreds of bets, more, often do, without success. same kind of betting always - just sa case of waitying for your turn to come around.
|

i had 2-1 chile in the World cup competition on here, so i would have won either way :)
|
|
By:
...which means staying in the game for as long as it takes. hence the many tiny stake wagers
|
|
By:
you have 3-1 in the world cup competition too dM

You still on this Sideshow? I still wouldn't assume that the Netherlands field such a dreck team that they end up losing easily. And Spain will probably be playing a by then demoralised Australia side.
If Spain win 2-0 against Chile, there'll only be 2 in it goal-difference wise. Spain only need to beat Australia by 2 more goals than the margin by which Chile 'beat' the Netherlands. |

got to swim thru a rising tide of lose-bets but your Big Win is there - u just gotta find it.

I would get on the Ivory Coast/Japan game now lads, the overs prices look madness. Already dropping and can see it going only one way.
Ivory Coast have scored in their last 25 games and always concede and Japan are always a basket case entertainment wise scoring loads and letting loads in. |

yes - no diff to the strategy persued - presumably with succes - by professional short-odds layers : keep paying out little bits every week, and sooner or later you'll get it all back with interest
|
|
By:
chile game tonight has probably cheered spain up a little because the goal diff was kept down....and for all that spain were poor tonight, they still look better than chile.

Who are these people that write teams off after a slow start to a tournament? An unimpressive start to a tournament is de rigeur for any side that has serious aspirations of winning it. Just ask Spain 2010 (lost 1-0 to Switzerland first up), Italy 2006 (drew with USA 1-1 after a win against Ghana), Brazil 2006 (needed a last minute penalty to beat Turkey), Italy 1982 (drew with Poland, Peru and Cameroon and didn't win a game until their 4th match).
