I'm thinking of getting involved in this, I know QPR have a mean defence, but derby score plenty of goals. Austin's back for Rangers, the pitch should be slick and the youthful Derby lads, might prove a handful for the ageing QPR defence. Both teams have struggled to keep clean sheets of late. Any thoughts?

Draw at 12/5 looks fair, usually tight affairs
these playoff matches. Unders looks a bit short
although I hate backing goals, bit like watching
paint dry waiting for goals to be scored. GL.

one thing i never do, is go on how many goals theres been. i dont think its relevant.

if a game has 3 goals or if it has 9 its over 2.5.
if a game has 0 goals or if it has 2 goals its under 2.5.
presuming those stats are right, 4 have gone over and 4 have gone under. so an even money shot either way.

i think overs is generous, but i wont be going on it. finals are hard to predict but derby are clearly a much better team than qpr. if they turn up, they could win 3 or 4-0. play off finals are notorious for teams frezing though. ive layed qpr in 90 mins at 3.4, think theyre a poor price.
Report sideshowbob May 24, 2014 1:36 PM BST
to illustrate what i mean...

this season stenhousemuir in home games have had an average of 3.39 goals per game. but only 9 have gone over 2.5, 9 have gone under.

east fife have only had 2.67 goals in their home games, but 11 have gone over and 7 under.

if youre betting on overs or unders the number of goals dont matter beyond winning or losing the bet. its no use betting overs on a team that wins 6-3 one week then draws 0-0 the next. its the number of games that go over or under that matters.

20 goals in 8 matches, average 2.5, but
seems to me distorted by 2 games producing
11 of them, so I can understand why 'unders'
is around 1.82. A hard call.

Crazy

sideshow, With respect where you are wrong IMO,
is making points based on 8 games, also freakish
results. From a good sample perhaps 500 matches,
the sides with lowest average goals per game,
will produce the majority of 'unders'.
How many 0-0 do we get?
How many 6 goal games do we get?
