HAHA, Massive LOL's at TBB....
How many times have you been owned in this thread you bitter manc? |
|

You are quite obviously of unsound mind if this matter takes up any more than the merest hint of time in any day yet you can't stop thinking about it Eeeeeternal? Do you and TBB share the same medication - he takes it 1 day - you take it the next? Please do carry on - you really don't need my help to look pathetic though if you are this wound up now by such a thing (Liverpool being talked about as title winners) then God knows what state of discombobulation you will be in if they really do look like winning it - oh sorry am i repeating myself zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz?
Of course when Liverpool don't win one can always pretend that that makes up when one's own team has had a terrible season (whichever that team is) can't one? One could say things like 'Ha stupid scousers really thought this was their year' or 'UTD may be an absolutely shocking embarrassment but at least the scousers are p!ssed off'. Feel free to bump this when you are pretending that makes up for a trophy-less season and the next few years of increased obscurity........... |

Considering you think me of unsound mind you keep having a little peck. Had that not been the case and had the Liverpool supporters come on and said something like, yeh it looks a bit rum and they could have handled the situation better then the issue would have been left at that. The fact that some of you are quite prepared to defend the indefensible is testament to how far you have fallen and how you would sell your granny for a trophy. Your club lied. Your manager lied. Their word means nothing and next tie something like this happens you will have a bucket of cold shiit poured over your heads and you will deserve it.

And it will happen.

Clubs and managers lie pretty much all the time don't they? And then there are players who are so inured to lying we see them claiming a throw in after the ball has clearly hit them last.
You had a situation where a player had been tapped up and wanted to leave a club who had stood by him through a couple of shameful incidents where he personally had caused damage to the clubs name. Then you had Arsenal clearly taking the Mick trying to embarrass LFC into selling their best player to a direction rival for a sum which indicated they had breached Fa rules and had already begun negotiations. Then you had Liverpool digging their heels in and refusing to be made mugs of. Only the bitterest of the bitters would be squealing about their part in that carnival to this extent. Eternal - you're an embarrassment lad. |

It's really basically very simple:
The truth is that Suarez did have a buy-out clause in his contract. And Liverpool maintained that he didn't. That qualifies as barefaced lying, so the club should have no complaints whatsoever if in future transfer deals no one takes them at their word, whether player(s), manager or directors. All other issues, eg whether Suarez owes a debt of gratitude to Liverpool for supporting him - and by the way, they did this out of sheer self-interest rather than through disinterested, 'compassionate' motives - are actually irrelevant to the question of whether or not the club acted with integrity. The view that this doesn't matter at all is down to pure self-interest, the emotional bias of a fan, which is only concerned with gaining an advantage, not with the truth of a legally binding document. Anyone who thinks that this doesn't matter has no respect for one of the key fundamentals of our democratic system, the rule of law. And it's by no means a valid argument to cite other examples of disrespect for the law to justify ignoring it in this case. Just because someone commits a burglary and manages to escape arrest, doesn't justify someone else doing the same, or stealing a car. If you're content with the standards of the gutter (as long as you're 'winning' of course) then you can ignore this, but don't complain if you're the victim of anyone's lies in the future. |

Mike, what are your thoughts on tapping up?
|
|
By:
one thing that mike [the goonie] nichols conveniently leaves out of his post is that arsenal were quite obviously involved in negotiations with the player in breach of fa rules and regs.
this coming from a supporter of a club who themselves and their fans want to "hoot the gaff down" when one of theirs gets tapped up. |

Obviously Suarez and his Agent didn't have a copy of the said contract.

Outraged by everything, ashamed of nothing. |

A pound and 40 mill was a lucky guess. No evidence of "tapping up", no smoking gun, nothing to see here chaps. |

Doesn't that also cover players signing a lengthy, legally-binding, contract, who then spit out their dummy not long after because another club has shown an interest & are prepared to offer them more money & a better chance of success ? When they sign that contract they are effectively saying that they will commit to said club club for X number of years. Are they not breaking their word then just in the same way a football club has ? It cuts both ways mate. & John Henry was right when he said that footballing contracts mean jack-s**t. Get over your it. |
|
By:
If the contract meant that he was free to leave with a bid of over £40m, then surely if he had wanted to go to Arsenal, his agent, who must have a copy of the said contract, would have said,"don't worry what Liverpool say, just sign on the dotted line".

Eternal please do point out where i have supported (or indeed even stated what i think) about these 'actions' My point is that you are making an issue of this for no other reason than Liverpool look like they are in contention to win the league. This thread wouldn't exist and your hatred would be directed at 'ha ha liverpool are carp' threads if they were in say man Utd's position but unfortunately for you they are in contention so you have to express your hatred in this nonsensical way.
Perhaps i've got it wrong and you genuinely are so naive and wet behind the years that you don't know how things work and have done for a number of years at all clubs and indeed in society at large. Maybe you are either 14 or 108 - if 14 then fair enough but if 108 i've news for you there never was a bygone era of 'gentleman's word is my bond' etc! I apologise that your innocence in these matters causes you to be so confused - maybe you actually think that an insignificant no mark such as yourself (or myself) has a voice. Maybe you are fooled by the 'join in the debate' nonsense that the meeja encourages, maybe you are a fool, maybe not.......... |

There is no point in trying to debate issues such as this with the average football fan. They are by nature tribal and can get quite aggressive even over the smallest of perceived slights.. no reason will penetrate and it can only end in confusion. Football fans, and even some Liverpool fans must be included, are in the main working class and therefore likely to be incapable of logical thought. |

It seems that way. Rare is the supporter who holds their hands up and admits that their player or club acted poorly. I find my interest in the game waning by the year with the antics which are endemic seemingly at all levels. Other sports do have problems of their own but these days give me the honest sight of 15 or 13 rugby players belting shiit out of each other for 80 minutes without feeling the need to roll around, respecting the official and then coming off the pitch and generally behaving as decent human beings.

Absolutley EO. If you cherish honesty and integrity so highly as you appear to here then I can only assume you'll now forego the football forum totally and move on to something more trustworthy like rugby, snooker or specials.

The players union looked at the contract at the time and agreed with the club,so fk knows what this fuss is all about.

There is the possibility that JWH had had a couple of drinks and embellished what actually happened. Let's be honest, being the big man who refuses to buckle even in the face of a legally watertight contract sounds much cooler than having a team of lawyers scouring the small print for a way out. And given how many people investigated it and how easily Suarez's team gave up its a possibility. If his agents knew he was in the right they wouldn't have hesitated to take it further surely.
