...bid of £35 million has gone in.

Unfortunately Wallis you neglected to include this
The book, whose account has been denied by Mourinho's adviser, goes on to describe the Portuguese spending a sleepless night in a hotel in Madrid, "the most unfortunate hours of Mourinho's phase as Real Madrid coach. He endured them between dozing and waking, glued to his mobile phone in search of clarifications, on the night of the 7th and the morning of the 8th of May, tucked into the Sheraton Mirasierra hotel." Moyes's appointment was made official on 9 May. I'll repeat 2 months before. As I say some people read stuff over the internet and some people have an idea of what really happened. Respected journalist for pity's sake ![]() ![]() |

The idea that United would be financially crippled by missing the CL is ridiculous.
|

Jose admitted he knew "months ago" that SAF was retiring , not weeks
|

One thing is for sure ,Chelsea did not want Moyes and got Mourinho. Of that there is no debate.
|
|
By:
I doubt Moyes would want to work for Roman.

Wallis what are you telling me that for?
It was you that posted up an extract from a fairytale by "a respected journalist" in an effort to prove what you had originally posted was true. It's not my fault that the full excerpt left your original post in ruins. I'll give you a better clue. What do you think caused Benitez to suddenly flip after the Middlesboro game on the 27th of February ![]() |

I posted up a journos account of what happened. How do you know its a fairytale ? He has never disguised the fact that he wanted the United job.
I dont understand what your point is. The excerpt says that Moyes was officially given the job on the 9th and Jose was crying over it on the 7th/8th ? How can you dismiss one thing from the internet and then produce an article from somewhere else and claim its more creditable ? |
|
By:
Isnt there a Bobby Charlton interview where he criticsed Mourinhos behaviour and said it wouldnt be acceptable at United and that stirred up the idea that people realised he was never going to get the job.

Jose lets himself down far too often to ever be the United manager.

"The idea that United would be financially crippled by missing the CL is ridiculous"
Financially crippled is probably stretching it but we heard the other day that £250m has been wiped off the United share value already this season. How much will it drop by if they miss out on the CL next season? How many world class players will want to sign for a club not in the CL? Will Rooney and RVP stay if you're not in the CL? |
|
By:
rooney wont stay whatever happens......
...surprised they don't use him in the mata deal really.... |
|
By:
Put much better than I did Biscuit. The amount of money ripped of the share price would be huge. Then they would have Mata at 40 million on the wages , no CL and even less chance of attracting players. How much money would they set aside to rebuild as they would still have a disgruntled Rooney and RVP to appease. I cant see them hanging around.

Why would any decent player want to go to Man Utd

I haven't reproduced an article from somewhere else. I've referred to Benitez flipping due to what caused it.
I've said on this thread and several threads before now that Mourinho back to Chelsea was set in motion a long time before it actually happened. Whilst United fans would love to believe all that stuff in the book is true it's miles away from the truth. Another clue. On the 1st of May Jose gave the interview on ITV about "one club who loved him." Again this is a week before he was apparently sobbing his eyes out in some hotel room at being ignored by the Mancs. None of what I know has come from reading stuff on the internet. |
