Feel for blind backers. Just proves you must watch every match. Was clear Uruguay were keen on not netting. Suarez and Forlan hitting corners straight out was priceless.

I learned this a long time ago - but there's no way you can accurately price up a dead second leg.

55 mins in and Uru were still 1.25 and seemingly looking like they weren't going to test the keeper. Feel for backers who fancied a Uru in first gear to win as felt like it was even less untoward than that.

really does baffle me those punters who think "well they scored 5-0 in the away leg so they must score at least 5 in the return leg"

oh well if it pushes unders ridiculously high i'm all for it Cool

An absolute charade of a game, cost me a ton in the end,but I feel for anyone who got scalded on it.It definitely seemed suspicious,I watched the entire 90 minutes, and uruguay were not bothered.Four things that bothered me were

1/ The most startling aspect for me,if it was pre arranged, was why they narrowed in the pitch,it should/did eventually sound the alarm bells.

2/ The condition of the playing surface.

3/ The final balls by uruguay seemed deliberately over/under hit.

4/ Cavani seemed intent not to score,he constantly turned dangerous situations into wasted opportunities, never looked to link up with suarez.

Strange strange strange.

they were through, probably didn't want any unnecessary injuries

was a bit weird how uruguays passing was very inept ,most balls were under/over hit and the corners were just a joke but it was a dead 2nd leg and you should never bet on them, slovakia got burned the other night at 1.03 by gibraltar so i guess anything can happen, perhaps they had a agreement that 0-0 was good for both sides but why risk suarez from injury if that was the case.

The good news is that as i was out last night i didn't want to leave my bets running. So i got out of the ht/ft and the unquoted...............and left the seemingly impossible to lose 1.05 match odds shot to run. Great!! Cry

Still not as good as the Portugal v Cape Verde Islands thread from a couple of years back.

If you want to look at fixed games involving Uruguay should look at how they got to this stage of qualification.

Hard to say it was fixed cj but very very strange, everything about it.I'll put it this way,if it comes out at some stage in the future that it was,I would not be surprised.

Didn't watch it so can't really comment but are people confusing 'fixed' with 'couldn't be bothered'

Uruguay had more shots and more shots on target than last week. The only difference was that Jordan turned up as they normally do for away games and Uruguay didn't get the luck they did in the first leg. It would have been much the same score if the deflections and lucky bounces fell as they did in the first leg.

wow just shows difference in opinion. Didn't think 5 flattered Uruguay at all last week

First 4 goals last week came from Uruguay strikers being unmarked in the area due to deflections or walkabout duty. Fifth goal was class.

Jordan away are a defensive team, so there were plenty of men in the box this week to cut out the lucky breaks.

Had a p*sser of a week after redding out of my France to qualify bet on Saturday morning only to see them get to a position where I could of cashed out early first half in the return game, and redded out of my Uruguay back around the hour mark. In the end I lost a three figure profit, but actually felt not too bad as it would have been three times as much, and the rest of it non-profit money.

Lesson here: never back a side that will be thrilled to draw 0-0. If they scored early it would of been four, it gets to the hour and motivation becomes a serious issue.
